All our courses introduce music and artists that are representative of the student’s world around them, weaving traditional examples and artists with fun and exciting new musicians. In addition to more established topics like musical instruments and genres, Music Workshop also features a groundbreaking series of courses on Cultures. In the Culture Series, Music Workshop uniquely introduces music and musical traditions from different cultures from around the world. Music is a natural conduit for students to learn about cultures outside of their own and it is tremendously important that students feel represented in their educational design. Music Workshop is dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion in the classroom. It is our intention to continue creating and expanding music resources that help students become connected to the global world in which they live. Additionally, the Music Workshop program includes valuable social and emotional learning strategies that positively impacted students. What can a teacher expect from the program?
*After creating an online account, teachers have full access to all Music Workshop resources. Music Workshop courses and materials align with National Education Standards.
*Courses are prepped and ready for download, giving teachers a turnkey music education resource
*Currently, 25 courses are offered, educating students on the history and appreciation of many musical genres, instruments, careers in music and cultures
*Our culture series is unique within grades K-8. It creates and presents music education that exposes students to music and musical traditions from many cultures and heritages around the world
*All materials within the Music Workshop program are dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion
*Courses include downloadable videos and supporting materials segmented by grade: K-2, 3-5, 6-8
*Courses integrate music education with reading, physical activity, active listening and critical thinking
*Supplemental materials like Fill-in sheets, Activity sheets, google classroom quiz and Sound Bites (a recap of what they learned) are included with course materials
Each course is approximately 45 minutes long (including teacher-led Q&A), broken into 4- 10 minute segments
*Courses provide a great, ready-to-go sub plan

As we close out this school year, we want to say something simple and true.

To every music teacher who showed up for their students this year - through the hard days and the great ones, through the chaos and the quiet moments when the music just clicked - thank you.

You are the reason this works. You are the reason students fall in love with music. You are the reason Music Workshop exists.

Here's to a well-deserved summer and an incredible year ahead.

This year, Music Workshop reached students in over 19,000+ schools across all 50 states and 121 countries - all completely free for every educator and student who needed it.

None of that happens without the people who believe in this mission.

As we wrap up the school year, we're asking you to help us reach the next million students. Every gift, whatever the size, helps ensure Music Workshop stays free for classrooms around the world.

Music education shouldn't have a price tag. Your donation helps make sure it never does.

It's officially summer break, and you deserve every moment of it.

Rest, recharge, and let music be your companion this season - not a lesson plan, just pure enjoyment.

From all of us at Music Workshop: thank you for an incredible year. We'll see you on the other side.

Happy summer.

"Music did not save my life all at once. It brought me back in pieces."

This is why we do what we do. Words from a 2026 Inspire Scholarship recipient - and a reminder that music education is never just about music.

There's still time to be part of this year's story. Gifts made by June 30 keep Music Workshop's resources free for teachers and students around the world.

As we wrap up the school year, we've been looking back at the numbers - and one thing keeps reminding us just how far music can travel.

This year, Music Workshop was used in 121 countries around the world. And when we look at where our most dedicated music communities are, the list spans every continent, every time zone, and every kind of classroom you can imagine.

Music truly is for everyone. And the educators bringing it to their students - wherever they are in the world - are the reason this community keeps growing.

Are you joining us from outside the United States? Tell us where you're teaching in the comments. We'd love to hear from you.

You made it. The school year is officially done, and you have earned every single day of this summer.

So first things first: go rest. Recharge. Do absolutely nothing school-related for a while. You deserve it.

And then, when you're feeling refreshed and ready, we'll be here. Music Workshop's professional development courses are free to sign up for through the end of June - and the best part? You can take them anytime, on your own schedule, all summer long.

No rush. No pressure. Just great PD waiting for you whenever you're ready.

This month we're sharing the Voices of Music Workshop...

Meet Amy Hall, our Director of Communications and Outreach. In this video, Amy reflects on what an incredible year it has been for Music Workshop - and we havbe a lot to be proud of.

This year brought music educators a whole new suite of resources to complement our courses: Coty's Classroom, Mini Lessons, ICAN Listen, and Ida's Musical Adventures. New ways to engage students, explore the world through music, and bring fresh energy into the classroom.

Amy also has a message for every music teacher heading into summer: you've earned it. And when fall planning begins, Music Workshop will be ready and waiting.

Have a wonderful summer.
