“More Than a Headshot” — this Wednesday, 8 AM

Why your best marketing tool isn’t your logo.

Our social media volunteer Marj Dizon photographs women who haven’t been in front of a camera in 10, 20, even 30 years — and it led her to a question: we have more cameras in our pockets than any generation in history, so why are we less visible than ever?

Marj will share what she’s learned volunteering with our social media, what actually makes people connect online, and one simple thing you can do this week to show up as yourself. Honest, a little personal, and genuinely useful.

🎥 We asked the people who built RHBA — and the ones leading it today — what makes this community so special.

16 years in, and the mission is as strong as ever. 💪

Hear directly from our founders Bev Snow-Kuehn and Toni Curry, and Co-Chair Mary Sherman on why RHBA has stood the test of time — and what keeps bringing members back year after year.

This is more than a business association. It’s a community. ❤️

🌟 Now is the perfect time to join or renew! Membership is $100/year and renewals at $75. Email us at [email protected] or find the application at the bottom of our homepage https://raleighhillsbusinessassn.org to get started. Or click link in our Instagram bio.

We’d love to hear from you about why you love RHBA! Send us a DM or share in the comments!

Many teens and low-income menstruators—think people living under the federal poverty threshold, refugees, migrant farmworkers, and the houseless—struggle to afford period products. They often have to choose between buying food or essential hygiene supplies and resort to using socks, toilet paper, or even folded plain paper in lieu of appropriate items.

Such lack of access to basic hygiene needs may make menstruators feel helpless or embarrassed, cause them to miss school or work, or put their health at risk.

No one should have to choose between food and period supplies. No one should have to stay home from work and school because they lack the funds to purchase essential supplies.

By donating “period products,” you can make a big difference in ensuring Period Power right here in Portland!

https://www.positivechargepdx.org/periodpower2026

💗 Collections may be over, but there’s still time to help fight period poverty in our community 💗

While Positive Charge! PDX's collection bins are now closed, there are still several ways to support Positive Charge! PDX’s Period Power Project as we prepare for our Community Packing Event.

You can still:
👉 Purchase period supplies and bring them directly to the packing event
👉 Make or bring cards of encouragement 💗
👉 RSVP and join us on May 16 (1–3pm) at Ida B. Wells High School Cafeteria
👉 Donate funds and we’ll purchase additional supplies for the project

Supplies and card-making materials will also be available at the event, where volunteers will assemble care kits for local individuals and families.
✨ We’d love your help finishing this project strong.
