We are excited to announce our newest Board of Directors Member, Tia Hotzler!

Growing up, Tia was a BBBS Little, with a Big Sister who provided a dependable presence for many of her formative years. In fact, the two are still in touch today!

"I am eager to contribute to the Board of Directors because I deeply believe in the power of structured, intentional mentorship to change life trajectories," Tia said. "Having followed the organization’s impressive impact—including its recent recognition as one of Oregon’s Most Admired Nonprofits—I am inspired by the BBBS commitment to defending youth potential. I believe that those of us who have achieved professional success have an obligation to reach back and clear a path for the next generation. That’s why the BBBS mission resonates with me—it’s an investment in a child's future."

Tia has already gotten involved with the Fund Development Committee and plans to attend the Building Big Bridges Gala. She works at the Oregon Council for Behavioral Health as the Director of Operations.

A decade of dedication to one organization is an impressive feat. Please join us in congratulating Jessica on her 10th anniversary with Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest!

In the early days of her career here, Jessica ran all processes in the finance department, including recording deposits, managing audits and tax filings, creating the annual budget, assisting with HR tasks, and so much more. Since then, she's built and led our incredible finance team to manage those responsibilities together.

Jessica said her favorite part of her job is leading and collaborating with her team and successfully managing projects from audits to implementations.

Please join us in congratulating Jaasyel on his 7th anniversary at Big Brothers Big Sisters!

If you've been involved with the BBBS program, you've probably met Jaasyel. As the Lead Program Specialist, his responsibility is to enroll families and volunteers, and once they start their new journey together, he stays in contact with them to ensure everyone feels supported and safe within the program.

"My favorite part about my job is hearing about how the relationship strengthens and deepens as the match spends more and more time together," Jaasyel said. "I enjoy knowing that the young people we support have someone in their corner to cheer them on."

What does a Matchmaker do?

"Matchmaker" is a special name reserved for those who give a monthly donation to BBBS. These recurring gifts support matches like Big T.D. and Little Jordan. T.D. and Jordan have been paired up since last December. This summer, they wasted no time in squeezing in a ton of fun activities- from shooting hoops in the park to hanging out with Dillon at Portland Pickles Baseball games.

These small, everyday moments with T.D. help Jordan build confidence and social skills, bond with a trusted adult, and most importantly- have fun!
