No Dog Left Behind

No Dog Left Behind We are a group of animal lovers providing free transportation for at-risk animals. We also connect with other pilots to run legs of much longer flights.

No Dog Left Behind (formerly Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team) coordinates and transports thousands of animals to their new homes free of charge. Leaving from the No Dog Left Behind Headquarters at the Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin, PA, our single-engine Mahindra Airvan can fly up to 160 mph and average flights consist of 150 to 300 nautical miles each way, allowing us to serve the areas of Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Akron, Erie, Harrisburg, Charleston, WV, and more. Our land operation consists of a Ford Transit van that can transport up to 40 animals at a time, more than 1,000 miles each direction. No Dog Left Behind is networked with shelters, pet adoption services, and national transportation organizations who let us know of the need for a pet rescue transport. We act as quickly as we can to get ready for the flight because sometimes timing can mean life and death. When we are not flying or driving, we are working to coordinate and receive donations of food and animal supplies to fill our empty planes with to drop off at shelters and other rescue centers. Every little bit counts. No Dog Left Behind is also involved in a growing Community Outreach initiative that we began in 2012. Over the last few years, No Dog Left Behind has hosted school-aged children at the Allegheny Airport for learning sessions about animal rescue and aviation. Our unique blend of both animals and aviation acts a catalyst to spark the interest in children to inspire them to become more aware of the need for animal protection. Our volunteers are available to speak to the community on ongoing basis. Even though fuel and plane maintenance is expensive,No Dog Left Behind does not charge either party for the transportation of the animals. We get our payment by knowing we are helping deserving animals get to their loving homes and look forward to serving many more in the future. In November of 2013, we received our 501 (c) 3 non-profit status and set out on our goal of raising funds to buy a larger, more fuel efficient plane. A better fleet of aircrafts will enable No Dog Left Behind to expand our reach to include further distances while carrying a greater number of animals and supplies.

Yesterday, 50 animals started their day before sunrise.

They weren’t sure what was happening or where they were going, but our team knew this journey was going to lead somewhere good and they were determined to get every one of them there safely. ❤️

Many of these dogs came from a hoarding situation and were extremely scared. They had never experienced anything like this before. But with extra patience, gentle care and plenty of love, they slowly settled in and were ready to begin their journey to better lives.

A huge thank you to Lincoln County Animal Shelter, Stanford Ky for removing more than 80 animals from this heartbreaking situation, getting them the medical care they needed, and showing them the love and compassion they deserve. ❤️

Our team traveled with them to Erie, PA, where multiple rescue organizations were waiting to welcome them with open arms.

They may need a little extra time, patience and love — but soon, these scared pups will be ready for what they’ve always deserved:
Loving homes,
Safe lives and
Families of their own.

Another journey to rescue. Another 50 lives given a chance.

And that’s what it’s all about. 🐾❤️

One long journey to a whole new beginning. ❤️

This crew woke up in Kentucky this morning and began a their journey north in our transport van. 🚐🐶

After many miles on the road, they arrived safely at One of A Kind Pet Rescue and Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups, where they’ll now have the chance to rest, decompress, and prepare for what comes next.

Tonight is all about dinner, rest, and settling in after their big travel day. Tomorrow begins the next chapter of their lives. 🐾

They’re ready to leave their past behind, find their families, and discover what it means to be loved.

The road to rescue takes more than miles, it takes fuel.

With diesel fuel costs at an all-time high, we’re launching our Fuel Their Future Campaign to help keep our rescue transports moving.

Over the next 4 weeks, we have 7 transports scheduled, and tomorrow our team is already hitting the road to Kentucky to bring another group of animals one step closer to safety and new beginnings.

Every mile matters. Every transport matters. And every donation, no matter how small, helps put fuel in our tanks and keeps these lifesaving journeys moving.

It all adds up and helps us keep saying YES to animals who need a ride to safety.

Can’t donate right now? You can still make a difference. Please SHARE this post and help us spread the word.❤️

19 cats. One journey to new beginnings. 🐾

Today, our team traveled with a crew of 19 cats from West Virginia to Providence Animal Center❤️

Some are playful and curious, while others are a little scared. They may not understand what’s happening or where they’re going, but we know something special is waiting for them on the other side of this journey. 🐱

Tonight, the crew is having dinner, settling in, and getting some much needed rest.

Tomorrow, their journey continues toward loving homes, cozy beds, endless cuddles, and the fresh start they deserve.

Safe travels, sweet kitties. Your new beginnings are just ahead. 🐾

HELPING OUR KENTUCKY RESCUE PARTNER ❤️

One of our rescue partners in Kentucky has been overwhelmed after taking on a heartbreaking hoarding case involving approximately 100 animals.

Our team is heading to Kentucky this Friday and we want to bring as many of the much needed supplies as we can.

They are currently in need of:

🐾 Dog & cat food
🐾 Cat litter
🐾 Cleaning supplies
🐾 Dog toys: please, no stuffed toys

If you’re able to help, please consider donating supplies for us to take with us on Friday.

Thank you for always supporting the animals, the rescues and the people working behind the scenes to save them. ❤️🐾

40 more pups made it to safety! 🐾

Among them is Mom Athena and her five one-week-old puppies, many sibling groups traveling together, and Goose, a brave Parvo survivor who is finally ready for the love and forever home she deserves.

After a full day yesterday on the road with our team, this incredible crew arrived safely at their rescues with One of A Kind Pet Rescue and Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups. Now they’ll receive the care, love, and support they need as they take the next steps toward finding their forever homes.

Thank you to everyone involved in getting these 40 pups to safety. The rescues and fosters with Kentucky Saving Them Together, Inc., volunteers, drivers, supporters, and everyone who helps make these journeys possible.

Every mile matters. Every life matters. And together, we’re getting them where they belong. ❤️🐾

Meet Cooper 🐾

While our team was loading the animals from Kentucky a couple weeks ago they met Laura and her husband. They were interested in learning more about No Dog Left Behind and were there when the puppies arrived. Laura immediately fell in love with one of the pups. ❤️

After completing the application process and speaking with Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups, Laura was approved to adopt her new family member! 🥰🐾

Yesterday they were reunited and welcomed Cooper to their home ❤️

Yesterday morning, our team picked up a large crew of dogs and cats in Kentucky for a very special journey north. ❤️🐾

This group was headed to Pittsburgh, where the staff and students at Vet Tech Institute - Pittsburgh, PAthe were eagerly waiting to welcome them with open arms.

22 dogs and 18 cats are now officially Pittsburghers! 🐶🐱

Their next chapter begins now. They’ll receive training, treatment, and any other medical care they need to get them ready for the next step in their journey.

And then… it’s time for the most important destination of all: their forever homes. 🏡❤️

Thank you to everyone who helped make this transport possible and to the amazing staff and students who are giving these animals the care, patience, and second chance they deserve.
