Isaiah* and his Friend, Darlington recently caught a Minnesota Twins game before the season winds down. It turned out to be SpongeBob SquarePants Day, and Bikini Bottom took over Target Field with characters and themed jerseys. Even the videoboard got in on it, which Isaiah thought was so much fun!

When Darlington explained what a rookie was, Isaiah was quick to share that his favorite player was rookie Kaelen Culpepper.

The Twins may not have gotten the win, but these two still had a great time cheering them on. Thank you, Tickets for Kids Charities - MN for another memorable day at the ballpark.

On this cool rainy day, we’re looking back at an indoor activity our kids enjoyed this summer thanks to Tickets for Kids Charities - MN! 🛝 Instead of staying out of the rain, these tickets provided kids in our Karen weaving program a place to stay active during the heat wave at Urban Air Trampoline Park.

A parent shared, "I don’t know where to take my kids out during the hot weather. Thank you to KOM staff [and Tickets for Kids] for sharing the program to the community. My kids had a good time with their friends and they enjoyed the time together. Seeing my kids happy and having a great time together makes me feel so much happier than ever."

We hope that these events introduce new opportunities to our refugee families, help parents engage in activities with their kids, and give kids a place to make positive memories. One of the kids who came to the trampoline park said afterwards, "Thank you for the tickets, I have never been to Urban Air and it was really fun with friends and family."😁

"The swan boat made me realize how peaceful it is to be off your phone as I also enjoyed talking to my friend about our life experiences," shared one of our youth after a July evening at Como Lake.

It brings us joy to see kids and parents from our KOM summer weaving program out on the lake trying kayaks and swan boats for the first time! 🛶About paddling the swan boat, one youth said, “it was slower than it looks in movies, but it’s fun and easy.”

Opportunities like these help parents and kids connect with the outdoors and each other. 🌳🌤️One parent shared, “Thank you for the opportunity for me to take my kids out, and see my kids have fun with their friends and enjoy the nice weather.”

🫶Thank you for Kids Charities - MN for giving our families opportunities to explore the outdoors this summer! We hope this opens the door for more refugee and immigrant families to experience all the fun activities our Twin Cities have to offer.
