🎃 Here’s pumpkin to talk about! The Jack O’Lantern Extravaganza returns to the Zoo this October! Enjoy thousands of hand-carved pumpkin designs with all new themes featuring your favorite icons! This family-friendly Halloween celebration includes activities for all-ages like live pumpkin carving, fall-themed food and drinks, the Night Train, and much more! New this year is the Vendor Village on Fridays, featuring local artists and makers; plus, for the adults, a 21+ add-on area in the Garden Tent on Thursdays, featuring mixology classes, a comedy show, and a zombie dance party.

It's the Day of the Cotton-top Tamarin! This critically endangered species is one of the smallest primates. They are native to the tropical forests of South America and known for their white-colored crest of fur that stretches from their forehead to the nape of their neck.

Cotton-top tamarins spend much of their lives in the trees and have at least 38 different calls to communicate with one another. A few of those calls are too high-pitched to be heard by the human ear.

The final day of Baby Week takes us to the Australian Aviary at Kids Kingdom to do a little nesting. Our pied imperial pigeons welcomed a chick in late June. A DNA test will be done to determine the s*x. Attentive parents have the young bird thriving. The bird is growing fast and fully exploring the habitat and the food dishes!
