Paige, Pittsburgh Glass Center's marketing director, reporting for the PGC contingent currently attending the 2026 Conference in Corning, NY:

We toured the contemporary glass collection at with long-time friend of PGC Corey Pemberton. So happy to see that he is on the CMOG acquisitions committee and hear his insights. We even saw an installation including hometown favorite and PGC friend Vanessa German.

Another piece of our home here in Corning: PGC co-founder Kathleen Mulcahy’s work is currently on display in CMOG's exhibition "Tough Stuff: Women in the American Glass Studio." ❤️ It's on view through January 10, 2027

A packed house gathered for flameworking demonstrations by Lucio Bubacco and Alessandro Boscolo. We hope they will visit us in Pittsburgh soon.

We teamed up with Two Frays Brewery to craft something as bold and vibrant as the art it celebrates—a one-of-a-kind West Coast IPA brewed exclusively for Pittsburgh Glass Center's 25th anniversary.

Bursting with Mosaic hops (think citrus, tropical grapefruit, and a hint of dry blueberry); layered with Simcoe's complex bouquet of stone fruit, pine, grapefruit, and signature "dank" notes; and balanced by Crystal malt; Glass City IPA is as dynamic as a molten gather fresh from the furnace. Its glowing reddish hue? A perfect nod to the fiery heart of glassmaking.

Be one of the first to try Glass City IPA tonight from 5 to 8 at our official launch party at Two Frays just a "hop" down the road from PGC. Our Hot Wheels mobile furnace is rolling down Penn Ave. to provide live glassblowing demonstrations too.

Pittsburgh Glass Center is teaming up with Allies for Health + Wellbeing, Dreams of Hope, Persad Center, and SisTers PGH, plus special guest MC and performer Luna Skye, for a Pride Month edition of our Hot Jam First Friday Open House!

Join us this Friday from 6 to 9pm to watch exciting live glassblowing demonstrations, party on the patio with DJ Formosa on the decks, try a Pride-themed hands-on glass art activity, celebrate the release of Glass City IPA, our 25th anniversary collab beer with Two Frays Brewery, grab some tasty bites from the Quick-E food truck, and more. All ages welcome! ASL interpretation provided. PGC Is wheelchair accessible.

And once again this year, all admissions donations in the month of June will benefit our Dreams of Hope LGBTQ+ youth scholarship fund!

Don't miss our weekly Summer Visiting Artist Talks at Pittsburgh Glass Center, where you can hear from internationally respected glass artists on their process, technique, and background. Apply by May 15 to be considered for Reflections in Glass, a dynamic installation unfolding inside The Westmoreland Museum of American Art, followed by a featured exhibition at Pittsburgh Glass Center. Fifteen selected artists will create new glass works inspired by specific artworks from the Museum’s renowned collection and spark unexpected dialogue between fine art and contemporary glass.

Apply by May 31 for the Ron Desmett Memorial Award for Imagination with Glass, a $6k residency and cash prize for a youth, glass artist, nonglass artist, or writer who thinks outside the box, practices curiosity, and takes risks to create unique, imaginative works that are either entirely glass or that incorporate glass.
