It is with a heavy heart that we share of the sudden passing of the husband of our beloved Mrs. Molgaard. A treasured tutor at our school, Mrs. Molgaard is currently serving Ms. Banko and Ms. Pitard’s students. We are truly heartbroken to learn of this loss. Our first-ever Kid Clothing Swap Fundraiser was a great success!! We raised just about $950 for the PTA and re-homed A LOT of clothes!! Thank you to all of the parents that donated your outgrown kid clothes as well as all of our "shoppers" who financially contributed to the event and left with some giant, super-stuffed bags!

A huge shout out to Natalie Antonucci for organizing the event, Yazmin Tapia for running the bake sale, Natalie Robb Dean for taking all of the leftovers, and to all of our volunteers who helped prepare for and run the event - we couldn't have done it without you (Heidi DeVries, Wiya Darlene, Abbie Zou, Brian Maloney, Arielle Evans, Kara Britanik, and all the rest of you that I can't find right now on FB).

For those of you who are curious, all of our leftovers were donated to Thriftique down in Lawrenceville where all of the children's clothing is free.

Spread the word to friends, neighbors, and other community members - We are looking super stocked for ages 0 through 6 for the kid clothing swap tomorrow!! We could still use some donations for ages 6 to 12! You can still bring in donations tomorrow during AM drop off (8:50am to 9:20am) at the front, main entrance and side PreK entrance (there will be bins out).

A big thank you to my parent volunteers Darlene, Ericka, and Leslie for helping to sort all of the goods - and for Mrs. Semega who welcomed us into the gym with her (she's amazing!). And thank you to all of the parents who have made clothing donations!

Pittsburgh Montessori's Backpack Initiative is a free, discrete and confidential weekly distribution of a variety of pantry-friendly foods to anyone who wishes to receive food support.

📆 Distributions every Friday and before extended school breaks.

✨ Free and confidential.

Come skate with us! NEW this year - Family Sk8 at Velum Fermentation in the South Side! Skate rentals included in the entry fee (available on a first come first serve basis) or BYO.

Other notes:

-PURCHASE TICKETS IN ADVANCE as the PTA will not receive a portion of the fee for sales made at the door.
-BYO safety gear (helmets, pads, etc.).
-Food and beverage (including 21+) available for purchase on site.
-Children must be supervised at all times by a parent or chaperone.
-Invite your friends! Anyone can attend, not just Montessori families!

\Walk and Roll to School Day is happening Wed, Oct 7! Bring your bikes, scooters, or walking feet to Friendship Park to celebrate from 8:15-8:45am. At 8:45am sharp we’ll depart for PPS Montessori in walking, scootering, and bike groups. Helmets required for all rollers! Hope to see you there. 🚲🛴👟

This is a friendly reminder to turn in your Yearbook Photo Release Forms!!

We're very pleased to say that we'll be creating a Pittsburgh Montessori Yearbook again this year. In order to make the yearbook happen, we need your release forms! If you missed the form in your kid's backpack, you can find it here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/13pw0OnM2dGC8W8R9HAQJqGWB1SVVg-V5fa3PfWJ-Sz8/edit?usp=sharing

You can even sign electronically and email it to your kid's teacher. We need release forms by this Friday, September 25th.
