Phans for Racial Equity PHRE is a community of activists who celebrate the joy and connection we experience through live music by working toward our collective liberation.

PHRE seeks to build an antiracist live music scene and promote liberation through racial equity in the world at large by activating the collective power of our community. We aim to dismantle White supremacy within the live music scene by facilitating thoughtful engagement around race and its intersection with other issues, so fans can challenge discrimination and systemic oppression wherever they find it. When we are successful, not only will all fans feel welcome in the live music scene, but the collective power of our community will be activated to advance racial equity in the world at large. We hold ourselves accountable by centering fans of color, amplifying their voices and prioritizing their wellbeing. We also acknowledge that we join an ongoing movement for racial equity, and commit to supporting community-led organizations who are already working to advance social, political and economic equality. Music has often been a powerful force for social change. If the music moves you, you’re one of us. Click here to find out how to share in the groove.

Help us keep the message moving—on the lot, at the shows, and between runs.

PHRE is looking for volunteers to help spread the word about racial equity and make more space for people of color in our Phish and jam band community. Whether you’re working a table, bringing friends into the conversation, or sharing our campaigns, your help matters.

Join our fall volunteer meeting to hear what’s ahead and find your place in the crew.

PHRE asks those engaging in this event tonight either in person or via webcast to reflect on the lands on which we will gather together & to acknowledge the ancestral homelands & traditional territories of the Indigenous peoples who have been here since time immemorial.

We acknowledge the ancestral homelands of those who were here before us & those who still live here, keeping in mind the integrity of this territory where some of the area Native peoples identify as part of the:

Lenapehoking, the ancestral, unceded homeland of the Lenape peoples (also known as the Delaware)

We acknowledge that the spaces we occupy sit on the unceded land of many Indigenous communities. We would also like to lift up and recognize the collective struggle and alignment between Indigenous, Black and Brown people in North America and honor the Black labor and lives lost over the centuries that has made our current society possible.
