💯 Texas Exes New York Chapter Welcome to the Centennial Weekend! 💯

Nearly 1,800 miles separate the limestone Tower at the University of Texas in Austin and the Concrete Jungle of New York City. While they differ greatly in food, culture, appearance, and vernacular slang among other things, they are united together by the robust and growing UT Alumni of New York. For a CENTURY now, Longhorns have packed their boots and hats to head to the City of Big Dreams to pursue jobs, unlimited opportunities, and a new life in the Big Apple. And likewise, New York high schoolers every year eagerly await their acceptance to the University they have heard “What starts here changes the world”.

And this is our story. For 100 years the Alumni and students of the University of Texas have been thriving and excelling from Wall Street to Broadway to Silicon Alley to the classrooms and medical centers of the outer boroughs. These days everywhere you go you see a Burnt orange shirt or hat crossing the Avenues or down the running lanes of the Hudson River. The UT spirit has excelled and thrived in New York City wherever you go. And the hustle and bussle of these streets have prepared us for the world’s challenges like no other. From volunteering, gamewatches, networking, and nearly $250k in scholarship, our contributions to the Empire State will last well beyond 100 years.

This weekend we will celebrate 100 years at our Texas Chili Cook-off. It is an event so ingrained in the lore of Texas Exes culture that it has been going on now for 57 years! We hope you will come out and celebrate this milestone with us- and if not support our Door Prizes and Scholarship initiatives.

We couldn’t have gotten this far without recognizing our amazing partners past and present. Thank you to , and all our satellite bars for providing places where we can be US on Saturdays 🤘🏼🤠! And thank you to our longtime suppliers of cold Texas beverages and so many more. And to our friends for bringing the next wave of Texas Longhorns to NYC!

🥂 Cheers to 100 Years 🥂
