CT Scanner Has Diagnosed Over 400 Patients in the First 6-Months

Yéle Haiti donated the first full body CT Scanner to Hospital Bernard Mevs Project Medishare. To-date the CT scanner has provided over 400 scans, about 3-5 a day, and is a crucial tool at the only Trauma and Critical Care Hospital in Haiti.

Accidents, gunshot wounds, and hydrocephalic children are primary beneficiaries of this sophisticated equipment.

For children with hydrocephalus, a condition where too much spinal fluid surrounds the brain, a scan is necessary before an intervening surgical procedure. An international team arrives every 3 months to perform these procedures and the scans are an essential component to this program.

The CT Scanner is available to all patients regardless of their ability to pay.
