The Giulio Gari Foundation is saddened to announce the loss of our Treasurer, Executive Board Member and long time friend of Gloria Gari, Lud Mayleas on December 4, 2025. A deep loss for all of us at the Foundation as Lud was a mainstay and one of our longest serving members. His enthusiasm, devotion, kindness and wisdom shall remain forever in our hearts. He was predeceased by his loving wife Marlena Paul Mayleas, a talented mezzo-soprano and dear friend and pupil of Gloria. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his daughter Karin Fischer, grandchildren, sister and surviving relatives.
