✨ Day 6 of our Artist Spotlight Series ✨

Meet Richard Sayama and Emily S. Vartanian, the choreographic forces behind ALONG THE WAY.

We are thrilled to welcome back longtime Mischief and choreographer Richard Sayama, whose newest work, SEIZA, makes its world premiere this weekend. It explores the choices that shape our lives - especially the paths less traveled. Set to music by the acclaimed Los Angeles-based ensemble TaikoProject, the work blends sweeping movement with soul-stirring percussion, carrying audiences through a deeply moving and melodic journey.

One of Head Troublemaker Emily S. Vartanian's premieres this weekend includes THOSE PEOPLE, a hilarious and heartfelt new piece. The shortest and tallest Mischief members work together to discover the freedom of removing their own limits. The work is set to commissioned music by flutist/composer Donna Viscuso and percussionist/co-composer Jackeline Rago.

Don't miss the chance to experience these incredible new works this Friday and Saturday!

RICHARD SAYAMA (he/him) Originally from Honolulu, Hawai’i, Richard Sayama graduated early from Marymount Manhattan College with a double major in B.F.A Modern Dance and B.A Business Arts & Management. He is currently both a MFA in Dance graduate student and an Adjunct Lecturer at Hunter College. EMILY SMYTH VARTANIAN (she/her) is General Mischief's Head Troublemaker. She is UCLA graduate in Dance/World Arts & Cultures, and her choreography has been presented at venues ranging from Radio City Music Hall to the House of Blues Sunset Strip.
