College & Community Fellowship We help women and families most harmed by mass criminalization gain equitable access to opportunity and human rights. http://www.collegeandcommunity.org/

College & Community Fellowship (CCF) enables women with criminal justice involvement to earn their college degrees so that they, their families, and their communities can thrive. We advocate for equity and opportunity for the communities we serve.

✨ This weekend we were proud to show up, stand together, and be in community at Beyond the Bars! Were you there too? ✨

On Friday, our Executive Director Yolanda Johnson‑Peterkin joined Shwanda Chapman of Women Building Up in hosting the opening night program, and also took the stage as a performer in the powerful Right/Write to Heal showcase.

“Your power and your voice is the wind beneath my wings to stay focused every day on the hope of what is possible, not the failures of the past.”
— Stanley Richards, New York City Department of Correction

On Saturday and Sunday, our team continued showing up strong. Our staff connected with the community at our table, and our very own Minerva Coffie (Mimi) led a workshop on our POWER and VOICE Program, sharing tools for healing, leadership, and self‑advocacy.

At CCF, we’re always inspired by spaces that uplift healing, creativity, and community leadership. Deep gratitude to be part of this movement and to the artists, organizers, and advocates pushing this work forward every day. 💛

Let us know in the comments if you were in the room with us this weekend!

👋🏿 Hey! It's been a while since we've posted, which is largely my (Nicole) fault. After a whole bunch of wildly inappropriate spam hitting our DMs and still having some direct access issues to gain ownership of our own accounts, social media took a bit of a step back.

But, 🗣️ WE BACK. Expect regular posts from us, including some very important events coming up!

We can't be everything for everyone at every moment. As women, especially those of us who care for others in any capacity, we feel the pressure to be on, ready, present, and able at all times.

But sometimes, we simply can't, and that's okay.
Be gentle with yourself. ❤️‍🩹

I am enormously grateful to steward and lead CCF to a level of social impact where there will be no doubt that there is no room or conference or table where women impacted by the criminal will not be prioritized and pronounced.

That's my vow, and I want you to continue to help us make this happen.

*[second video] HUGE Shoutout to , our graduation keynote speaker, for dropping that inspiration for the CCF community.
