The City of Memphis officially recognizes September 19 as đź’š

Welcome to the experience.

For 3 days, we’re celebrating the culture, history, wellness, businesses, unity, and PEOPLE that make Frayser what it is. From the Ride the Bay Wellness Rally, to Porch Fest & Community Prayer, to giving back through service and volunteerism — this weekend is about showing love to our community and investing back into the Bay.

This is more than an event.
This is community pride.
This is legacy.
This is Frayser. 🫶🏾

🗓 SEPTEMBER 19–21, 2026

What Happened to Memphis?

For years, Memphis had Tennessee’s only majority-Black congressional district, District 9

The new map splits Memphis into three separate congressional districts instead of keeping the city mostly together. This WILL this affect OUR VOTING POWER!

The Sheriff is in charge of law enforcement at the county level. That includes:
Running the county jail
Serving court papers and warrants
Providing court security
Supporting public safety across Shelby County

This role serves ALL of Shelby County, not just one neighborhood — so everybody should be paying attention.
Right now, the Shelby County Sheriff is Floyd Bonner Jr. He’s been in office since 2022, and in 2026, voters will decide who holds this seat next.

Misdemeanor criminal cases
Preliminary hearings for felony cases
Bond hearings
Warrants and arraignments

If it’s county money or county services — commissioners have a say. This seat is up for election in 2026.

đź“… General Election: August 6, 2026
