“Following Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me!”

Brother Keith first came to Memphis Union Mission after being paroled from prison and completed our program, but soon returned to addiction and homelessness. When he realized he didn’t want to spend the rest of his life on the streets, he returned to the Mission and gave transformation another chance.

As Brother Keith grew in his faith, God led him toward ministry. With mentoring and support from the Mission, he attended theology school and discovered a new purpose for his life.

Today, Brother Keith has been sober for 14 years, owns a lawn care company, serves in ministry, and gives back by teaching discipleship classes at the Mission.

“When I get a chance to pour my life into others, it gives me a chance to give God the glory.”

At Memphis Union Mission, life transformation begins with Christ, and a transformed life can become an instrument for transforming others.

“I had never felt that kind of love until I got to Moriah House.”

After a traumatic childhood, Sandi turned to drugs and eventually found herself homeless and without hope. When she came to Moriah House, Memphis Union Mission's life transformation program for women, she encountered something different: the love of Christ and a community that walked alongside her as she began rebuilding her life.

Sandi gave her life to Jesus, worked hard, saved for her future, and graduated from the program. She soon moved into her own apartment, bought a car, and restored her driver’s license. Along the way, she also had the opportunity to lead three other women to Christ, including her own mother.

“You’ve helped change our lives. Thank you for helping us to persevere.”

At Memphis Union Mission, life transformation begins with Christ, and its impact can reach far beyond one life.

Did you know? Family Friday Nights offer an easy way for individuals, families, and small groups to serve together at Memphis Union Mission!

Every Friday, volunteers can come to our Men’s Emergency Shelter at 383 Poplar Ave. to help serve dinner. There’s no reservation needed. Just arrive by 4:45 p.m., with dinner served at 5:00 p.m.

After dinner and a brief cleanup, you’re also invited to stay for chapel and see firsthand how the hope of Christ is shared with our guests.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Friday! Whether you served a plate, shared a smile, or spent time with a guest, your presence helped make the evening special.

At Memphis Union Mission, even a few hours of service can be part of someone’s journey toward hope and a new beginning.

“They showed Christ to me, and I have a beautiful life now!”

After years of addiction and homelessness, James reached a point where he knew he needed a different life. He walked through the doors of Memphis Union Mission and joined our life transformation program. There, he received food and shelter, but James says the most important thing he received was the Gospel.

James gave his life to Christ, found freedom from addiction, rebuilt relationships with his children, and began a new chapter of his life.

At Memphis Union Mission, the Gospel is at the heart of transformation, bringing hope, freedom, and new life through Jesus Christ.

“Pray to God and decide how you want to live."

Darrell struggled with addiction from his teenage years into adulthood. After completing Memphis Union Mission’s recovery program, he relapsed, but God was still working in his life. Darrell returned to the Mission for another chance, determined to stay the course.

Today, he has completed a two-year HVAC certification program and continues growing in his faith through Bible study and fellowship.

At Memphis Union Mission, a setback doesn’t have to be the end of the story. Through Christ, there is hope, restoration, and the opportunity for a new beginning.
