“When Lauren and I recovered these babies 4 years ago, they were in a box labeled “medical waste” and were being transported from Cesarean Santangelo’s Washington Surigi-Center to a Curtis Bay incinerator to provide renewable energy for the city of Baltimore.
After convincing the driver to give us the box, we discovered inside the remains of 115 aborted babies, five of which were past the age of viability.
One of those babies who we named Harriet had a laceration on the back of her skull where her brain appeared to have been suctioned out and her skull was collapsed. These are hallmark wounds of a partial birth abortion, which is a federal crime!
Similarly, two of the other babies, Christopher X, and Phoenix, appeared to have been born alive and then left to die - likely drowning in the formaldehyde solution we found them in.
I cannot stress enough how large and developed these babies were. Lauren and I regularly carried a 22 week old fetal model with us in our activism and these babies were more than twice that size. They were literally premie sized infants.
The last two of the larger babies named Holly and Angel sustained catastrophic wounds-total dismemberment. Angel had been decapitated and Holly’s spine had been ripped in two with the lower half of her body separated from the top; her legs and toes curled in unimaginable pain.
Seeing this all with my own eyes was a truly shocking and traumatizing experience. I still have difficulty even typing this or discussing it without breaking down - even after all these years. The thought of their bodies still languishing in the morgue without any investigation haunts and angers me every single day.
Yesterday, everything changed. I got word from Rep. Smith’s office that a letter had gone out signed by more than 50 members of congress demanding a full investigation into the deaths of the five.
It brings me so much hope that Congress continues to stand with us in pursuit of justice for these children and for children targeted by gruesome and brutal late-term abortions everywhere.”
