From supporting our affiliates across the state to building partnerships, championing environmental education, and encouraging communities to take action, Missy leads with a passion for making Tennessee a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful place.
But great leadership is also about the people you bring together.

Looking for a way to get outside and give back this October? 🌱💚

Tennessee has plenty of opportunities to learn, volunteer, and make a difference all month long!
🌻 October 19, 28 & 29 — Community Garden
Help make improvements to the community garden at Oaklands Park and prepare it for the winter season.

🌱 October 22 — Native Plant Restoration
Get your hands dirty helping install native plants in a restoration area near the Wilderness Station.

🗑️ Ongoing Litter Cleanups
There are also opportunities throughout the year to help remove litter and care for Murfreesboro’s parks and natural areas.

Whether you have a few hours to volunteer or simply want to learn more about conservation in your community, there’s a way to get involved.

From raindrops to rivers, protecting our waterways starts in our communities. 💧💚

Keep Tennessee Beautiful was proud to join the Memphis Storm Water Department for Raindrops to Rivers at Mud Island River Park!

KTNB’s Stine Moss-Coopwood attended on behalf of our team, connecting with the community and supporting an event focused on education, stewardship, and the connection between stormwater and the waterways around us.

The family-friendly event brought Memphians together for STEAM activities, music, games, and more—all while helping families learn about the role we can each play in creating a healthier Memphis.

Help Keep the TN River Beautiful this October! 💧💚

Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful hosted a cleanup in Pickwick as part of a series of cleanups recognizing Keep the Tennessee River Watershed Beautiful Month.

Keep Tennessee Beautiful Executive Director Missy Marshall joined the cleanup as volunteers came together to help care for the Tennessee River and the communities connected to it. đźš®

The cleanup was one of several being organized by Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful throughout October in recognition of Governor Bill Lee proclamation designating October as Keep the Tennessee River Watershed Beautiful Month.

Tiger Blue Goes Green is back! 💙💚

University of Memphis hosted its 19th Annual Sustainability Expo, bringing together more than 30 exhibitors and the UofM community to connect, learn, and explore sustainability in action. Stine Moss-Cooperwood and Monica Kizer represented KTNB and spent the day educating studUniversity of Memphise University of Memphisn University of Memphist University of MemphissUniversity of Memphis on how they can get involved in keeping Tennessee beautiful!

This year’s theme, “Learn Together, Work Together, Move Together,” focused on promoting safe and sustainable mobility and the role we can all play in building a more sustainable future.

We love spending time in the community and love our partnerships! A huge thank you to The University of Memphis for prioritizing community partnerships and environmental sustainability for their students and the Memphis community!

Keep Morristown-Hamblen Beautiful is making it easier to recycle those items responsibly at the BOPAE Recycling Event tomorrow!

Residents can bring batteries, oil, latex paint, antifreeze, electronics, light bulbs, plastic, metal, cardboard, and paper for recycling.

This event is for residential recycling only.

Great things are happening in Sevier County! đź’š

We enjoyed welcoming Lisa Bryant, Executive Director of Keep Sevier Beautiful, for a visit with the Keep Tennessee Beautiful Executive Director, Missy Marshall.

From litter prevention and community beautification to waste reduction and environmental education, Keep Sevier Beautiful continues to find ways to engage residents, volunteers, and students in caring for their community.

In 2025 alone, their work brought together 928 volunteers, helped clean 70 miles and 22 public spaces, and reached more than 11,000 K–12 students through education and outreach.

It’s a great example of the impact our affiliates are making in communities across Tennessee — and why staying connected, sharing ideas, and learning from one another matters.

Thank you, Lisa, for stopping by and for everything Keep Sevier Beautiful continues to do for Sevier County!

A little planning can keep a lot of food from going to waste. 🍎🥕🥬

For the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, try a few simple changes at home:

🥕 Plan meals before you shop.
📝 Make a grocery list—and stick to it.
❄️ Freeze food you won’t use in time.
🍽️ Turn leftovers into another meal.
đź‘€ Keep foods that need to be eaten first where you can see them.

Small changes in the kitchen can add up to less waste at home and more thoughtful use of the resources that go into the food we eat.
