Tennessee has lost one of its brightest lights. 💚

Dolly Parton never forgot where she came from. From the mountains of East Tennessee to communities around the world, she used her extraordinary life to bring people together, give back, inspire others, and make a difference.

Her music made Tennessee proud, but her legacy reaches far beyond the songs she gave us. Through her generosity, her commitment to children and literacy, and her unmistakable love for her home state, Dolly showed us just how much one person can do for others.

We join Tennesseans everywhere in celebrating a life that made our state—and our world—a little brighter.

Behind every cleanup, community event, and beautification project is a team that loves Tennessee—and a few four-legged friends who love it just as much.

🚗 Meet Bam Bam
Whether it's a car ride, a boat ride, soaking up the sunshine, or relaxing by a warm fire, Bam Bam is happiest spending time outdoors with the people he loves.

🐾 Meet Clyde
Clyde's favorite things are rolling in the grass (or snow!), playing fetch, and a good game of tug-of-war. That's one reason he isn't a fan of litter—it can turn his favorite places into dangerous places to play.

🫐 Meet Kazaam
Kazaam is always up for blueberries, watermelon, belly rubs, and chasing his favorite ball. His happy-go-lucky spirit reminds us to enjoy Tennessee's beautiful outdoor spaces every chance we get.

Our pets remind us why keeping Tennessee clean and beautiful matters. Every park, trail, and green space is better when it's safe for everyone—especially our furry family members.

🌱 KTnB at the 2026 Tennessee Sustainability Conference! 🌱

Members of the Keep Tennessee Beautiful team recently attended the 2026 Tennessee Sustainability Conference in Gatlinburg, bringing together leaders and organizations from across Tennessee working to advance recycling, sustainability, environmental education, and community stewardship.

Our Executive Director, Missy Marshall; Community Services Coordinator, Stine Moss Cooperwood; and Communications Manager, Monica Kizer, had the opportunity to connect with partners, exchange ideas, and learn more about the important work happening across our state.

KTnB was proud to serve as a lunch sponsor and exhibitor at this year’s conference. We were also proud to have several of our affiliates attend and share their work:

This month, we're proud to recognize Outdoor Murfreesboro, one of the newest affiliate in the Keep Tennessee Beautiful network!

As part of the Murfreesboro Parks & Recreation Department, Outdoor Murfreesboro connects people with nature through environmental education, natural resource conservation, outdoor recreation, and hands-on volunteer opportunities. From restoring natural areas and promoting native plants to leading educational programs and conservation projects, they're inspiring people of all ages to become stewards of Tennessee's natural resources.

Their work reminds us that keeping Tennessee beautiful isn't just about protecting the outdoors—it's about helping people discover, appreciate, and care for the places that make our state so special.

We're excited to welcome Outdoor Murfreesboro to the Keep Tennessee Beautiful family and look forward to the impact we'll make together.

This week, Keep Tennessee Beautiful is proud to serve as a sponsor and exhibitor at the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Executives Annual Conference in Maryville.

Our Assistant Executive Director, Pamela Willingham, will be sharing Keep Tennessee Beautiful's mission and highlighting how partnerships between businesses, local leaders, and communities help create cleaner, greener places to live, work, and visit.
