MUSIC RETURNING TO MUD ISLAND AMPHITHEATER?! 🎶 After years of hard work, community engagement events, collaboration and persistence, we FINALLY have a light at the end of the tunnel for the Mud Island Amphitheater coming back to life! Council JB Smiley Jr., Councilwoman Jana Swearengen-Washington, and Councilwoman Yolonda Cooper-Sutton have put forward a resolution in the city's 2027 budget to fund the repairs needed to bring the amphitheater up to ADA standards after a contractor submitted a bid for $96,000 to repair it based on repairs outlined by an ADA consultant hired by the city. These repairs would allow the venue to be safe to host our planned "Comeback Concert Series" and other future activations!

16 years ago lots of people warned the City that Beale Street Landing wasn’t such a good idea. Now it’s the $240M Brooks museum they’re talking about. How does the City keep getting sucked in to these projects? And the current one doesn’t even have a legitimate building permit.

UPDATE: MLGW says the downtown water main break could take several days to repair.

What a sensitive, spectacular building! It becomes a part of the land and its beauty. So sad that in Memphis the new Brooks destroyed the Bluff and blocks the public riverfront.
