With our display at Union Station Kansas City wrapped up and the 156 back in Kansas for the next few weeks getting prepared for travel to its next display location (hint: it won’t be in this time zone! 😁), we wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who came out to Kansas City to visit and photograph the 156.

Getting to meet all the incredible Milwaukee Road fans and hearing stories from those whose lives the 156 has touched in the 50 years since 1976 was a truly humbling experience for our team, and we can’t wait to share our next exciting opportunity to see and photograph the Milwaukee Road Bicentennial in person with you!

Thanks again to our amazing partners at Union Pacific Railroad and Watco for handling the transportation, and the great team at Union Station for making this all possible!

We hate to have to make this post, and while the overwhelming majority of our visitors have been amazing to meet and respectful of the 156 display, last night someone took it upon themselves to cut off and steal the safety chains on the four corner steps of the locomotive.

We believe this may have been someone attempting to take photos of the locomotive last night, and while we certainly understand that everyone wants a photo of the 156 clear of obstructions, removing safety devices is never OK.

These chains are critical safety devices which were installed to prevent unauthorized access to the elevated walkways of the locomotive and prevent danger to the public and our visitors.

This individuals actions left the locomotive unprotected and puts our ability to arrange future public display opportunities at risk.

We are reviewing security footage with Union Station to determine exactly what occurred last night and would encourage anyone who may have seen the individual responsible to please reach out to us or Union Station security.

As always, we want to make sure that everyone can safely and respectfully enjoy this historic occasion and display.

Happy Independence Day!🇺🇸

As we ring in the 250th Birthday of the USA, our Milwaukee Road 156 spends its first Fourth of July in nearly five decades wearing its original 1976 Bicentennial colors.

We take time on this historic holiday to give thanks to all the amazing patriots that made this possible!
