Since 1976, Centurions Leadership Program has earned its reputation as an unequaled training ground for future Kansas City leaders. Today, the two-year program has more than 80 active Centurions who join more than 2,000 alumni. We are a close-knit group of women and men from diverse backgrounds, expanding our personal and professional networks within the group and throughout the community we serve.

As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we’re proud to celebrate the voices, experiences, and perspectives of six incredible members of our Pinnacle cohort 🩵

Through their stories, these leaders remind us of the importance of honoring our heritage, embracing our identities, and recognizing the diverse experiences that strengthen our communities.

Centurions Spotlight: Ashton Wells

Ashton Wells serves as Major Gifts Officer at MOCSA and is our Benchmarking Trip Committee Co-Chair for the Pinnacle class.

For Ashton, leadership starts with one simple principle: show up. Whether it's supporting others through life's big moments, lending a hand when someone needs it, or investing in the community, she believes showing up builds the trust and relationships that make strong leaders and stronger communities.

One of Ashton's favorite Kansas City moments is arriving home at the airport after a trip and seeing fellow travelers proudly wearing KC gear – a reminder of the unmatched pride and connection people have to this city. That same sense of community motivates her to give back and help Kansas City continue to thrive. Outside of work, Ashton enjoys cheering on Kansas City sports teams, spending time with friends on a patio, exploring the outdoors with her dog, and traveling to experience new cultures and perspectives.

He serves as the bridge between portfolio management and clients – translating investment philosophy, strategy positioning, and performance into clear, actionable insight for institutional and intermediary audiences across RIAs, broker-dealers, and investment platforms.

Reliable, direct, and genuinely invested in the people around him, Hunter brings that same standard to Kansas City civic life.

Pinnacle’s September Task Force proved that democracy is not a spectator sport.

The day gave a firsthand look at how decisions get made when community interests, economic opportunity, environmental concerns, private industry, and public policy all collide. We heard from notable Kansas City leaders who shared their insights on public service and the importance of civic engagement.

In the City Council chambers, we put everything we learned into action during a mock City Council session. Taking on roles such as journalists, developers, labor representatives, and council members, we worked through real-world challenges and cast votes as city leaders for a day.

A great reminder that effective leadership requires listening, collaboration, and the ability to navigate diverse perspectives to serve the broader community.
