Mid America Freedom Band is looking for volunteers to help staff our booth during KC PrideFest this weekend.

We're looking for friendly faces to:
🎵 Greet visitors
🎵 Share information about the band
🎵 Help with setup and teardown
🎵 Support LGBTQ+ arts in Kansas City

Happy Pride Month from the Mid America Freedom Band! 🏳️‍🌈🎶

Pride has always been about visibility, community, and showing up exactly as you are. We’re proud to be part of Kansas City’s LGBTQ+ community and to create a space where musicians, performers, and supporters can make music together in an environment built on belonging.

As we celebrate Pride Month, we’re looking back at some of our favorite moments from last year’s KC Pride Parade and getting ready to do it all again this Saturday at KC Pride 2026! The parade steps off at 11:00 AM and kicks off a full weekend of PrideFest celebrations at Theis Park.

Whether you're marching, cheering from the sidelines, or seeing us for the first time, we’d love to celebrate with you. Come wave, sing along, and help us fill Kansas City with music, joy, and Pride.

Jazz and Burlesque have a wonderful KC history growing up together in the early 20th century, and we love seeing that tradition continue!

On May 15th, the Lavender Flamingo opens for Jazz After Dark.
