Breastfeeding can bring up a lot at once.

There may be joy, stress, soreness, questions, and a very real need for someone to help sort through what is normal, what needs attention, and what options are available.

That is where doula support can matter. Our doulas do not replace medical care or lactation care, but we can help a parent feel less alone as they prepare questions, notice concerns, and connect with the right support.

During National Breastfeeding Month, we are thinking about the kind of care that gives parents room to ask honest questions without shame.

Purposeful work deserves purposeful time together.

This week our team stepped away from the daily pace to reconnect with our mission, challenge our thinking, share ideas, and get clear about where we're headed next.

At the center of our conversations were the women, families, and communities we serve. They are ultimately why we take the time to ask what we can do better, where can we grow, and what needs to come next.

We walked away with renewed energy, even stronger alignment, and plenty to build on. Now, we get to put it into action!

We created our T-shirts, mugs, and journals because maternal health and birth equity should not disappear from the conversation when an event ends or a meeting is over.

Each design gives you a way to carry an important message into everyday spaces and help more people pay attention.

Our doulas, Jasmine and Sa'Myah, had such a fun morning bringing childbirth education to expectant families at the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center prenatal group this week. Our team walked participants through comfort measures with hands-on demonstrations, covering positions and tools that help expecting moms feel more prepared and supported as their due dates approach.

There's something special about a room full of soon-to-be parents learning together, laughing, asking questions, and building confidence for the birth ahead.

A big thank you to the Sam Rodgers' team for hosting us and for creating such a welcoming space for these families. We are grateful for our partnership!

At The Kauffman Foundation Conference Center, we are building an art show that places maternal health where it belongs, in full view.

Through photography and digital art, the evening will offer a creative experience that makes space for reflection, recognition, and conversation. Impactful birth equity merchandise delivers messages that set the tone for the event, while audio stories rooted in real birth experiences will deepen the experience even further.

This is art with purpose, and every part of it is being shaped with intention and appreciation.

As this evening takes form, we look forward to sharing what is coming together!

A purchase from our new online store does more than add a T-shirt, mug, or journal to your day. It helps us build support for the doula care, prenatal and postpartum support, and other maternal and infant health services we provide at no cost.

One of our doula clients welcomed her baby boy much earlier than expected, at a time when she also had very few people nearby to lean on. Her doula wanted to make sure this mama still had a moment that was completely about celebrating her and her little one.

So, with teddy bears, plenty of baby-boy sweetness, and a room full of people happy to show up for them, we celebrated!

We loved having community health workers from Rodgers Health join us for this special afternoon, along with a delicious meal from Taqueria El Torito!

To the new mama and her very loved little boy: you are surrounded by so much love, and we’re all cheering you on as you begin this new chapter!

Missouri Medicaid is changing. Here's how to keep your coverage.
Starting January 1, 2027, new work requirements, more frequent eligibility reviews, and changes to retroactive coverage could all affect your Missouri Medicaid.

We're sharing an important community town hall where you can ask questions, hear directly from people who understand the changes, and learn what steps you can take now to protect your coverage.

Mothers deserve more than a kind phrase and a list of numbers to call.

They deserve support that feels present. Support that helps them breathe a little easier. Support that meets real needs with real care.

Your donation helps us keep showing up for mothers with services and support that can make all the difference during pregnancy and postpartum.

If you believe mothers deserve more than the bare minimum, this is one way to stand behind them.
