There aren’t many places left where a retiree and a 19-year-old end up at the same table.

Most of our lives now happen in separate lanes: home, work or class, and a screen in between. We gather with people who are like us, often by algorithm. The “third places” that used to mix generations and backgrounds, like diners, porches, and fellowship halls, are getting harder to find.

That’s part of why Sunday Suppers matters to us. Every week, college students and community volunteers share a meal. Nobody has to have anything in common except being hungry on a Sunday night.

Sunday Suppers are simple. And that is part of the beauty!

Midterms are coming, and the stress tends to show up right on schedule.

The Christ Center's Wellness Fund offers 5 free counseling sessions to CMU students, campus ministers, and CMU faculty. It's not reduced cost. It's free!

Over 30 students joined us on August 30th for breakfast before heading out to church together, with 7 local churches partnering to make it happen. We had no idea what to expect for a first try, but getting to watch students connect with a faith community (some for the first time) made it more than worth it!

Huge thanks to Messiah Lutheran, First Presbyterian, Canyon View Vineyard, Fellowship Church, Harvest View, Northeast Christian, and Enjoy Church for partnering with us — and to every volunteer who showed up early to set up, welcome students, and make it feel like home.

CMU students, faculty, and campus ministers! Join us this Wednesday for an hour of prayer for our campus and our community together. We do this once a year along with students across the country. Come for the prayer and for the free coffee and donuts!
