We meet regularly at 4:00 p.m. the first Sunday of the month. Call 970-823-2663 for location. We take donations via PayPal at [email protected]

WCAF was created to provide a long-missing secular voice to the western Colorado community and offer non-believers a way to find each other and enjoy fellowship, discussion, education and camaraderie. Visitors are welcome to debate us on the merits of our beliefs, but people who engage in personal attacks or leave profane or offensive comments will be banned from the site.

It completely escaped me all week that tomorrow, Sunday, Nov. 1, is the First Sunday of the Month, and time for our monthly meeting. I apologize for not sending out a meeting reminder earlier! I expect lots of people have been busy with Halloween goings-on and may not be up for a meeting this weekend, but I will be at the Coffee Trader tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. If any WCAF members show up, we'll have a visit, and if no one shows up by 15 minutes after 4:00, I'll take my coffee and cookie and go home.

This recipe is from the Freedom From Religion Foundation's monthly newsletter Freethought Today. If I was making this recipe, I'd add a pinch of salt and some lemon zest. Other than that, it's great inspiration.

We received a complaint (anonymous, through a third party) that the Rangely Town Council is entertaining prayers to Jesus Christ at public meetings, specifically at the meeting held on 9/22/26 (see video). I think our move should be sending a warning letter to the Trustee who said the prayer, with a copy to the town mayor, saying that we received an anonymous complaint about this and that this practice is illegal. The prayer is at the very beginning of the meeting and was said by town Trustee Shawn Morgan. Please post your thoughts on this, or DM them to me. I hope to address this ASAP.

I'm going to have a small 2 bed, 2 bath house downtown up for rent around Nov. 1, and want to offer it to my atheist friends first. The nice thing about this property is that it's a free-standing house on a small downtown lot and has one bed/bath upstairs and one bed/bath downstairs, so it's a good setup for roommates. It has a redwood deck, a covered carport and storage shed in back and it's an easy walking distance to everything downtown. Enstrom's candies is on the next block to the west. You can see pictures of it at the link below on Zillow. (The rent will be far below what Zillow's estimate is, though.) The current tenant has been there 5 years, is getting married and gave me notice he'll be out October 15, then I'll need time to inspect it, have it professionally deep cleaned and do any repairs/repainting, etc. that may be necessary.
