A celebration of life, remembrance, and community. 🧡🌼

Yesterday, Cross Orchards Historic Site came alive with art, color, and tradition for a Día de los Mu***os Festival.

Through beautiful ofrendas created by local artists, shared memories, and meaningful moments of reflection, our community came together to honor loved ones and celebrate the traditions that connect generations.

Thank you to our partners, Grand Valley Creative Alliance and The ARTERY, the participating artists, and everyone who helped make this celebration possible.

We are grateful to share in the beauty of this tradition with our Western Colorado community. 💛

We are getting so excited for this weekend!
Join us for our first annual Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) Festival at Cross Orchards!

Here's how the weekend works:

Oct. 30 and 31, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Come and go as you like. Explore five artist-made ofrendas, try a craft at the activity table, add to the community ofrenda, and wander the grounds at Cross Orchards.

Nov. 1, noon to 4 p.m.
The full festival: traditional music, food trucks, face painting, candle decorating, papel picado, and more.

Admission is free all three days. Food items are available for purchase on Nov. 1.

Imagine a child looking up at a Brachiosaurus, and learning it was discovered right here in Grand Junction, Colorado. 🦕

That’s what Bringing Our Brach Home is about.

Yesterday, Shenna Hayden shared our plans for a life-sized Brachiosaurus cast at Grand Junction Regional Airport, where everyone could see it for free.

Thank you to Airport Board President Linde Marshall and our project partners for bringing us together today with Governor Jared Polis to highlight Bringing Our Brach Home during this 150/250 celebration.

Now you can help turn those plans into something kids, families, and visitors will remember.

October’s book of the month for our regular Story Time program at Dinosaur Journey is none other than Tiny T. Rex and the Very Dark Dark! 🦖

Bring your little ones aged 2-9 to hear how Tiny T. Rex overcomes his fear of the dark and all the spooky things that go bump in the night! 🎃

This month, Story Time will run on Thursday, October 15th from 10am to 11am! Come brave the dark with Tiny T. Rex, then grab admission to the museum afterwards!
