Had a great meeting this morning! Jon had gifts for the president from his travels, and Mike visited us from the Grand Junction Rotary Club AND won the raffle, but not the big pot (and graciously donated it back to the club). Plus, we had a great presentation from Leigh Ashman of WestCo Cart who told us about the newly-formed non-profit that helps rescue pets and livestock left behind during emergencies like wildfires. The latest episode of Gilbert the Gavel's Travels: we don't know where he is, but he's definitely going through it. 🫠 Please send vibes (and maybe another round) his way.

Another great meeting this morning! President Theresa played a reverse-UNO card and gave Jim "gifts for the president" for covering last week's meeting. Megan from the Grand Junction Police Department Victim Services Unit was our guest and gave us all great info about the program, and Jim got another gift, too - he won the raffle (but not the big pot).

A huge thank you to everyone who supported Imagination Library of Mesa County last week and who came out to the special screening of "Steel Magnolias" last night in support of Dolly Day in GJ! Your support helps put free books into the hands of local kids. We couldn't do this without you. A big thank you, too, to Boyd and Sue for running the Imagination Library table at the Avalon Theatre and for co-emceeing the event!

If you weren't able to make it, you can still donate!

Today, we’re celebrating the people who . To everyone who has donated, volunteered, spread the word, partnered with us, or simply believes every
child should have books of their own: thank you.

Because of your generosity, 3,600+ children under age 5 in Mesa County receive a free book every single month through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Your donations help bring the joy of reading into homes, spark imaginations, and create special moments between kids and the people who love them. Dolly often called her local Imagination Library Partners the “true heroes” of her program. We’re so grateful to have a community like you that continues that spirit of giving.

A warm, heartfelt "thank you" from Horizon Sunrise Rotary Club for helping us carry on Dolly's legacy by giving back to the children of Mesa County.

Give Like Dolly Day is coming September 25! Dolly Parton believed in giving back and helping children dream bigger—and this year, we’re celebrating that spirit right here in Mesa County through Give Like Dolly Day.

On Friday, September 25, we’re inviting our community to join us in giving back to children by supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Mesa County. Your support helps make it possible for children in our community to receive a free, high-quality book every month from birth to age 5.

This culminates with a special "Steel Magnolias" screening at Avalon Theatre Friday at 6pm. Tickets are only $13.60 all in, and proceeds go to support Imagination Library of Mesa County.

We had a smaller, but great meeting this morning! Kristy and Martha from PrimeHealth+ joined us to share a number of updates on their programs, successes, and what the community can do to support them in being able to serve more of the community. Plus, Stuart bought raffle tickets for Kristy and Martha, and Kristy won the raffle!
