More pictures from today. We were able to go to several parks and help a lot of people today. Many families at the other parks we went to, I forgot to take pictures at those.But it was a blessed day today to say the least. Had several people we were able to give new Bibles to as well as pray with. I could not have done this without Jimmi, Kenny and Libby. Thank you three for your hard work and willingness to step out of your comfort zone and pray for people as well as with people. I know it was hard but I also saw your faces glowing when I dropped you off at home when we were done. Thank you for your service, let's do it again soon. God Bless youn

Sound is to low but it's not about listening to what is said for us as much as it is about Kenny doing this when he was scared and didn't think he could. I was so blessed to see him just grab this man's hands and start to pray for him. Kenny is just recently clean and sober and he is wanting to remain that way. He decided to pray for his friend and I think it blessed Kenny as much as his friend. What an amazing day!

So I have a helper, Jimmi, who is gonna help me on Saturday to distribute water, bibles, pizza and prayer for anyone who desires it. We want to ensure proper hydration along with letting people enjoy a slice of pizza and hopefully let us pray with, for and over you. We will have bibles to offer for free, these are new never used bibles as well as tracks to help you in your walk. We will be more than happy to discuss scripture with you and share Christ amazing Gospel message with you as well. Look for the gold GMC truck with the white box trailer with the Adonais Refuge logo on the side. We do not have an exact schedule yet but plan on going to several of our local parks and even just stopping when we see a group gathered.

With the temps getting at or above 100° Adonais Refuge will be once again distributing ice cold drinks to those in need of one. We will offer free ice water in plastic bottles to anyone who wants or needs one. Look for the white trailer with Adonais Refuge logo on the side and come visit with Chaplain Doug and also grab a Bible or some tracks to better understand Christ love and forgiveness for you.

Adonais Refuge was started to help men transition home from prison and jail. We started out with a rental house so we could house men when they were released. This was going ok at first then Covid Hit and disaster we couldn’t house anyone unless they had a private room. We made it exactly 9 months with the house and we did help about 35 to 40 men during that time. Since the. We have been doing special events quarterly with helping to care for the homeless here in Grand junction. We are in the middle of refocusing our program and hope to have a major announcement soon. Thank you for all your prayers and support. We cannot help people without the support provided by people just like you.

Check out the web site, we are working on changes there as well. But if you want to know where to find just about anything in the Grand Valley we have a page with a link to get you there. It’s our areaources page. I pray that anyone would be open to using the web site for some direction as to where to get certain helps in mesa county. There is a lot of programs that want to help those in need. So if you know someone new to the area just send them to www.adonaisrefuge.org and they can find the resources page for some direction.

Some time between Thanksgiving and Christmas we will be giving away Winter survival gear to our local homeless. We have gathered many items but are in need of winter coats. If you have one or several you would like to donate please email me at [email protected]. I will be happy to come pick them up or give you a drop off location. We need 60 jackets for our giveaway. If we get more we will distribute more.
We will also provide a hot meal, with plenty of food, as well as hot coffee and hot apple cider.
We have not set the date so keep watching for that announcement.
God has blessed us to be able to bless those in greater need than we are. We are so grateful for your prayers a d support. We cannot do anything without your support prayers and love.

We have a zoom meeting Monday to talk with a group that helps set up organizations to get portable showers for their communities. I pray and ask for prayers that we can begin to make the right steps forward to bring a mobile shower trailer and laundry unit to Grand Junction and the surrounding areas.
Just think how you feel after a long day when your grungy and dirty and you finally make it home to get that nice hot shower. How good you feel physically and mentally as well as emotionally. Now imagine not having that shower to go home to. But having to bath in a river or from a water fountain outside in the cold of the winter or the heat of summer. Would you want to be around people or go apply for a job knowing you smelled pretty ripe. I pray we can help change lives with this portable shower unit. It's not much but often times feeling clean can lift your spirits enough to go out and get a new job or at least apply.
A laundry trailer would go right along side of the shower trailer to ensure that their clothes are clean and fresh. We are also looking at obtaining a smaller box trailer that we can store clothes, hygiene products and other items like food that we can distribute while people are waiting to get their clothes and bodies cleaned up. We have new Bibles and teaching materials to share and give away as well as asking for some local barbers and hairstylist to help with haircuts.
I think if we can just get something like this started we can make strides towards helping our neighbors and our neighborhoods revitalized and encouraged. One person at a time, if we just focus on one person at a time we can accomplish so much for the kingdom of God and His children.
