Walk Zara Home ❤️

We will be joining Zara Aleena’s family and friends on 27th June for a silent vigil in her memory and will then join united as we all walk Zara home.

Please come along too and wear something white if possible in Zara’s memory.

Farah Naz, Zaras aunt spoke at our Break Free Conference in March and the story will forever be one that drives us to continue to create meaningful change through the work that we do here.

We hope to see you there for support ❤️🙏

Hello June 🌸

This month, we are choosing ourselves. After everything we have carried... we are gently setting it down.

Let’s say no more allowing those who pushed past what was fair to take up space in our minds, energy, peace.

No more letting people, places, or memories that don't honour us keep a grip on our hearts.

This June, we serve ourselves first.

We breathe a little deeper. We move our bodies with kindness, not punishment. We spend precious time with souls who lift us up. We nourish ourselves; body, heart, and spirit.

We rest without apology and we let go of the weight that was never ours to carry, and in its place we grow something beautiful: joy, ease, connection, and healing on our own terms.

You are not too much, you are not too sensitive and you are worthy of peace.

What are you letting go of this month? And what are you choosing to make room for instead?

You deserve the softness. You deserve the good things 💗

✨ ANOTHER WEEKLY ROUNDUP NEEDED✨

How blessed are we? 💖

As another incredible week comes to a close, we’re reflecting on just how much is happening here at The Jessica Project.

🎙️ We officially launched our brand-new podcast platform, Hear Me Now.

🤝 Priya formed exciting new partnerships focused on youth prevention work, and we can’t wait to see where these opportunities lead.

👮‍♀️ We continued collaborative work with the police to help tackle Violence Against Women and Girls.

💡 Georgie has made fantastic progress on an exciting project we’re building behind the scenes.

💕 We enjoyed some lovely team meet-ups because sisterhood will always come first including meeting up with one of our lovely crowned with courage finalists 👑

🎓 Shash officially began her ISVA training journey, a huge achievement and an exciting step forward.

📅 We’ve also been busy planning some incredible events for the months ahead, everything from conferences to pageant finals and everything in between.

💌 One particularly special moment this week was Priya receiving an amazing letter recognising the impact of her work. Sometimes, when you’re busy building something bigger than yourself, it’s easy to forget how many lives you’re touching. Moments like these remind us why we keep going.

Something truly special is being built here. Every conversation, connection, partnership, and opportunity brings us one step closer to creating meaningful change for survivors and communities.

We are ending this week feeling incredibly grateful, inspired, and blessed.

Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in our vision and walk alongside us on this journey. The future is looking bright. ✨💖

‼️ Call For Action ‼️

We are standing in solidarity with the brave young survivors who were re-traumatised by Judge Nicholas Rowland’s decision to not appropriately sentence them.

The perpetrators may have been children in the eyes of the law, but their victims were children too. That must never be forgotten.

R**e is an extremely serious crime and survivors deserve justice, accountability, and protection. Decisions like this send a devastating message to survivors across the country and further damage trust in a justice system that continues to fail so many victims of sexual violence.

We condemn this decision and the harm it will cause to survivors and communities everywhere.

This case once again highlights why prevention and education work with young people is absolutely essential. We urgently need stronger consent education, healthy relationship education, early intervention, and survivor informed prevention work to stop more young people being harmed.

We are calling on everyone to raise their voice with us today.

Write to your MP.Speak out.Stand with survivors.Demand accountability.

Silence protects systems. Speaking out protects people.

Many of us here are survivors of sexual violence ourselves and know first hand this impact this must be having on those girls, it is NOT ok and we will NOT ignore this!

✨ Self-Care Sunday From Priya ✨

Today I poured back into myself.
I got up, got ready, and took myself to a safe space for coffee, quiet peace, and some journaling…

Sometimes healing looks like slowing down long enough to hear your own thoughts again.

During my reflections, I reminded myself to stay focused on what I truly set out to do which is to become the best version of myself I can be. To lead with honesty, integrity, and compassion. To use my lived experience to help others through difficult moments and remind them that healing and peace are possible.

I’m learning that not everybody will understand you, support you, or see your heart…and that’s okay because you cannot please everybody. What matters is remaining aligned with your purpose, protecting your peace, and continuing to show up authentically.

If you are doing your best, leading with kindness, and trying to make a difference in the lives of others, never let outside noise distract you from who you are.

Keep going. Your light reaches more people than you probably realise 🤍

✨ ✨ TGIF, beautiful souls! ✨

What a week it’s been here at The Jessica Project… and we’re ending it exactly how we love to being held, heard and in community. 🌸

🌷 We opened the week with Week 3 of our Reclaim Your Freedom Programme — our recovery space for survivors of domestic abuse. Watching our warriors step deeper into their healing, their truth and their power has been nothing short of breathtaking.

💻 And tonight, we close the week with our beautiful Online Survivor Circle… which was a soft, safe space to land, share and simply be among women who truly understand.

Two safe spaces. One shared mission: 👉🏽 To connect. 👉🏽 To heal. 👉🏽 To rebuild. 👉🏽 To empower one another.

And in between? Oh, we’ve been busy 💖 🌟 New team meet ups 🌟 Exciting new collaborations brewing 🌟 Fresh workshops rolled out 🌟 Big events in the pipeline 🌟 And a few surprise projects we cannot wait to share

And in that release? We discover softness. We discover strength. We discover us again.

To every survivor reading this…you are not alone, you are not behind, and you are so deeply worthy of the peace ahead.

Stay close… beautiful things are coming. ✨

💚 WORD OF THE DAY 💜
Lawfare

Rarely starts in court.
It starts quietly. Slowly. Strategically.

Long before the applications.
Long before the allegations.
Long before children ever realise they are being used as pieces on a chessboard.

The groundwork is laid through narrative building, image management, subtle provocation, isolation, financial exhaustion, emotional destabilisation, and creating “evidence” through manufactured conflict.

By the time the victim reacts, the perpetrator already has the advantage:
— they look calm while the victim looks distressed
— they weaponise procedure while the victim is surviving trauma
— they use delays as punishment
— they drain finances, time, health and relationships
— they force constant defence instead of allowing healing
— they provoke reactions, then present those reactions as proof

And the system often rewards it.

Because systems are easier at measuring behaviour than understanding coercion.
They document reactions more than patterns.
They value presentation over lived reality.
They confuse trauma with instability and manipulation with cooperation.

So the perpetrator gains control without ever needing a conviction.
Control through process.
Control through paperwork.
Control through exhaustion.
Control through access.
Control through monitoring.
Control through orders.
Control through silence.

Control that is state sanctioned
Control that wears a disguise of perfect parent.

That is lawfare.
And too many families are living inside it while professionals call it “high conflict.”
