Belated congratulations to staff members Julia and Laurence who got married at St. Peter's Church, Maidenhead last month. They are pictured here with former staff member Christine Witshire. What a joy to have witnessed Laurence's journey of recovery comprising two stays at Yeldall, coming to know the Lord (thanks in large part to the love and witness from his friends at the church) and now duty staff member. We are also delighted that Julia is on the staff team as Finance Officer working with Noelene.

I also love the look of pride on Dan's face (Laurence's friend and best man) and emotion on Laurence's as Julia walks up the aisle

Huge thanks to Steve Hedger and team, and everyone who contributed to our Lodge fundraising appeal. The revamped Lower Lodge welcomed its first resident on Thursday with a celebratory bacon butty for staff and volunteers.

As Steve said, "The environment we provide for our residents matters so much. The way you are treated can change the way you feel about yourself. A good bed. Fresh bedding. A proper wardrobe. A desk. A comfortable chair. A bedside table. A mirror. A lamp.
These might seem like small things, but together they say something very important: 'You matter. You are worth looking after.' "

There is still time to contribute to this appeal if you would like to to help fund these items for these rooms and the rest of the Lodge.

It is such an encouragement to see how far Mark has come since he joined us.

We are looking for a committed Christian to join our Recovery Coordination Team as a Recovery Officer. This is a rewarding and varied role at the heart of our recovery programme, providing practical, emotional and spiritual support to men seeking freedom from addiction.

As a Recovery Officer, you will act as a keyworker for residents, helping them navigate their recovery journey, achieve personal goals and overcome challenges along the way. You will work closely with residents, colleagues, families, commissioners and external agencies to coordinate support and ensure each individual receives the care they need to thrive.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about recovery, enjoys building meaningful relationships and wants to make a genuine difference in people's lives every day.

🏡 Help me create rooms that make people feel they matter

Hi, I’m Steve Hedger, and I’m currently managing the refurbishment of The Lodge at Yeldall Manor, our resettlement house for men in recovery.

This project is very personal to me. I was a resident at Yeldall in 1998, and I know first-hand how a safe, welcoming environment can help restore someone’s self-worth and support their recovery.

Essential repairs mean we now have the opportunity to completely refurbish five bedrooms. We want each room to be comfortable, practical and dignified — a space that says:

You matter.
You are worth looking after.
You have a place here.

We’re raising funds for beds, bedding, wardrobes, desks, chairs, lamps and other essentials. You can fund an individual item from £50, or £1,340 will furnish a complete bedroom.

Every contribution will help us give these five rooms a fresh start. Can you help?
