London Marathon Day is almost here - look out for Conal and George! This Sunday, 26 April, Reading Family Aid will be represented at the TCS London Marathon for the very first time – and we couldn’t be prouder.

After months of training and fundraising, Conal McLean and George Kelleher are ready to take on 26.2 miles to support disadvantaged children and families across Reading.

Together, they’ve raised over £3,000 so far, with every penny going directly to Reading Family Aid – helping us provide practical support and brighter moments to local families who need it most.

We had a wonderful sunny outing to Odds Farm Park in March.The families and charities had a lovely day trip and really appreciated the efforts of Reading Family Aid. Well done to Mia, our outings manager, and Katie and Laura who accompanied her on the trip.

Our London Marathon runner Conal competed in the Reading Half Marathon on Sunday 22 March in his Christmas present outfit, newly kitted out with the Reading Family Aid logo to raise awareness of our cause. It also served as an excellent training run to help Conal prepare for the big day!

We have Conal McLean running the London Marathon in support of Reading Family Aid in April. And just to make it even more fun (and challenging!) he’ll be running dressed as a Christmas present 🎁

We asked Conal how his training’s going:
“I did my warm weather training on holiday in Tenerife, it got lots of attention… mostly smiles but some looks of bemusement! Praying for rain on the day ☔️!”
