The Arthur Ellis Mental Health Foundation

The Arthur Ellis Mental Health Foundation We are building a mental health service for anyone over the age of 8 years old to access across Milton Keynes.

We think mental health services should be easy, meaningful and not come with long waits or high thresholds.

How do you respond when someone tells you they're polyamorous?

Jon, Wes and Rosie discussed this on the most recent episode and it's a helpful listen for anyone who might encounter this, whether it's at home or work.

On last week's episode, Jon and Wes were joined by Rosie Allen to mark Pride month.

As well as discussing Pride, Rosie, Jon and Wes talked about the journey to finding who you really are - and the impact it can have on your mental wellbeing.

It's been over a month already since our MasterTasker LIVE fundraising event at MK Gallery and we couldn't resist sharing a flashback!

So grateful for our incredible contestants, partners and sponsors - as well as our wonderful audience, who helped us raise over £4,000 on the night.

We'll be back soon with another MasterTasker LIVE event, but for now here's a highlight reel from the night 💚🧠

This week is Volunteers' Week.

As a charity dedicated to improving access to mental health support across the UK, we're so grateful to everyone who gives up a moment to give up their time to support us - whether it's at an event, providing mental health support, via our podcast - and the many other ways we benefit!

So to those of you who volunteer with The Arthur Ellis Mental Health Foundation, THANK YOU - we could not do what we do without you. 💚🧠

Do you talk to yourself? Out loud, or just in your head?

According to Louise, our most recent podcast guest, talking to yourself isn't crazy - and it actually helps us. It's all about our relationship with ourself and whether we see ourself as a friend or foe.

This was such a helpful episode in how to improve your thinking. Listen NOW 🔗 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ful27I2VaLI

Be kind to yourself (and others!) in the heat...

If you take SSRI or SNRI medication, you may find the heat affects you more than usual. Some antidepressants can impact how the body regulates temperature and hydration, which may leave you feeling dizzy, exhausted or overwhelmed.

You may have noticed these feelings already over the last few days and wondered why 💭

Our top tips...

💧 Hydrate. If you're not keen on plain water, why not infuse with some fruit?
🌤 Take it easy where you can. The whole list doesn't need to be tackled now.
🧠 Rest if you need to. Work can wait for a few minutes.
🤝 Check in on others around you.

And bonus points for a rain dance, we won't tell if you won't ☔️

Be kind to yourself in the heat. Your body is working way harder than you or other people realise 💚

Have you checked out our latest Down But Not Out podcast with MKFM yet?

In this episode, we were talking about your mind - and finding out more about the Chimp that lives inside.

Some people give their Chimps a name, Wes' Chimp even has a Northern accent! How would you describe yours?

We wanted to kick off our Wednesday with a huge shout out to our lovely new Mentor Sophie, who ran the half marathon this weekend in support of The Arthur Ellis Mental Health Foundation!

Sophie only joined us recently, so this is an incredible level of commitment! Outside of supporting Arthur Ellis, she is a mum of three neurodiverse boys with a degree in Early Childhood Studies. She is also a Learning Mentor in a school, supporting children’s social, emotional, and mental health development.

Helping people in-session and on the run, literally! Thank you Sophie 💚🧠
