“Everything I owned was taken by the flood.” 💔

Eight-year-old Salun watched as floodwater surged into his home, tearing away the back of it and sweeping away everything he owned.

Now sheltering nearby with his parents, the place he called home has gone and, in a matter of moments, the safety and security every child needs disappeared.

Across northern Nepal, thousands of children like Salun urgently need lifesaving help. 🆘

Children dream without limits✨

They dream in technicolour. Backwards, upside down and inside out. Climbing mountains, exploring space, helping others and changing the world. 🌍

But potential needs space to grow. 🌱

In Ethiopia, World Vision's Child Sponsorship programme is helping create that space through clean water, stronger livelihoods, better health and education.

That's the impact of Child Sponsorship.

Because when children are supported, and their communities are too, dreams don't fade.

They grow. ✨

When disaster strikes, the road to recovery begins with the essentials.

🧡Thanks to your support, World Vision has emergency relief supplies ready to help children and families in Nepal rebuild their lives after devastating floods and landslides.

With nearly 2,000 people still missing and thousands of families affected, many have lost homes, possessions and access to basic necessities. That's why World Vision is preparing to support 1,000 households with life-saving relief supplies, including:

🧼 Clean water and hygiene kits
🏠 Emergency shelter and home repair kits
🧣 Warm clothing and blankets kits
🍲 Kitchen kits

Alongside emergency food assistance, protection services and psychosocial support, these supplies will help families meet their immediate needs and take the next steps towards recovery.

Every donation helps bring practical support, dignity and hope to children and families affected by this disaster.

Catastrophic flooding in northern Nepal has devastated lives, and children and vulnerable families are facing increased risks as many have lost shelter, livelihoods and access to essential services.

Dhruba Gurmachhan from World Vision Nepal explains how World Vision is assessing needs and responding to the floods.

In any disaster, children are among the most vulnerable. Displacement, disruption to education, psychosocial distress and protection risks can have lasting impacts on a child's wellbeing and development.

🙏 Pray for the children of Nepal.

Today, children and families in Nepal are facing fear and uncertainty after devastating flash floods swept through communities in Rasuwa and Nuwakot. Homes have been destroyed, loved ones are missing, and many families have lost everything.

We are liaising closely with our teams in Nepal and will share more information as it becomes available. In the meantime, please join us in praying for the safety of children and families affected by the devastating flash floods, for those still missing, and for the emergency teams working tirelessly to rescue and support those in need. 🧡
