The Urb Farm Wolverton - Growing People The Urb Farm is a social enterprise market garden based in Wolverton, Milton Keynes Weekly Urb Farm Market every Tuesday 10am-4pm. We hope to see you soon!

Email [email protected] to subscribe to our newsletter and for seasonal opening hours. Growing People is a horticultural social enterprise exploring sustainable methods of growing food within the local community. Our market garden is located at the Urb Farm in the heart of Wolverton, Milton Keynes. Together with our trainees and volunteers we maintain 18 large growing beds

, five polytunnels, greenhouses and an orchard all year round. We grow a wide range of vegetables and fruit using environmentally sensitive techniques, working with the seasons and local climate here in the Southeast. All of our produce is cultivated on site with zero food miles from field to market. Freshly picked produce can be purchased at our weekly market at the Urb Farm every Tuesday 10am-4pm. Opening hours vary with the seasons, so please sign up to our newsletter, follow our social media or check the notice board at the farm gate for more details. The Urb Farm can be found between 196-198 Windsor Street, Wolverton, MK12 5DR.

We are part of an innovative local charity called MK Christian Foundation that grows people and community through social enterprise. The eight exciting enterprises are staffed by amazing teams of young people who have struggled with mainstream education. Their enterprise work experience is supported by accredited training enabling trainees to build confidence and make good choices for the next steps in life.

Our very own Alan has created two new market garden carts, custom made to size. They span our one metre 'no dig' vegetable beds and are height adjustable to allow room to roll over lower crops like onions and salads while not damaging them. It's particularly useful for harvesting and weeding as it'll move up the bed with us.

Creating them ourselves not only saves us money as a charity but also allows us to make them fit our dimensions. Alan created our compost sieve 'Beartha' last year and we'll be using his skills over the next few months to create more time saving market garden equipment. Thanks Alan!

A big thank you to Nick Bailey for joining us yesterday at The Urb Farm, Wolverton. It was our second in our Unearthed 26 series of talks, a full marquee of very hot but inspired people came to visit. Thank you everyone involved in setting up this day and for those who bought tickets to this event. Every penny goes back into the foundation to help provide for our young adults.

Next up is Chris Day from Alban Hill Nursery talking about 'Gardening in a Changing Climate'. Nothing could be more apt as I sit here in boiling conditions so early in the year. Tickets can be found at the following link... https://mkchristianfoundation.co.uk/product/gardening-in-a-changing-climate/
