After an incredible 10 days supporting WINGS Jamboree, all the kit is now cleaned, checked, restocked and safely back in the ScoutMed stores.

What an amazing event it has been!

Our volunteer team was proud to provide the 24-hour on-site medical service throughout the Jamboree, delivering healthcare on a scale similar to a mini A&E and Minor Injuries Unit. Alongside our Medical Centre, we also provided medical cover at two off-site activities, operated three response vehicles across the site, and ensured help was always available whenever it was needed.

A huge thank you goes to every ScoutMed volunteer who gave up their time, energy and expertise over the past days. Your professionalism, dedication and teamwork have been outstanding, and we couldn't be prouder of what you achieved together.

Finally, we'd like to thank the fantastic WINGS organisers and all the volunteers who made this incredible international event possible. It has been a privilege to work alongside you.

Six ScoutMed volunteers recognised with Scout Meritorious Conduct Awards

We were delighted to welcome Chief Scout Dwayne Fields to our medical centre at WINGS Jamboree to present Meritorious Conduct Awards to five of our members.

In total, six ScoutMed volunteers have been recognised for their exceptional professionalism, clinical leadership and teamwork during an exceptional life-threatening medical emergency at a Scout event in 2024. Working in direct partnership with NHS Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance clinicians, ScoutMed remained at the heart of the clinical response throughout the incident.

The honours comprise three Medals for Meritorious Conduct and three Commendation Awards, with one recipient unfortunately unable to attend the presentation.

These awards recognise the professionalism, skill, compassion and teamwork shown in exceptionally challenging circumstances, to provide the highest standard of care, that directly led to saving life.

While the awards recognise six ScoutMed volunteers, this was very much a team effort. We'd also like to thank the Traffic / Transport Site Management Team, all scout volunteers involved and our NHS colleagues, whose professionalism, support and partnership were instrumental throughout the incident. Together, everyone demonstrated the very best of Scouting and multi-agency working.

We are incredibly proud of our award recipients and grateful to everyone who played a part. This recognition reflects not only the dedication of those receiving awards, but also the commitment, professionalism and values demonstrated by every volunteer involved.

ScoutMed are proud to be supporting UK Muslim Scout Fellowship 3rd International Jamboree at the home of Scouting, Gilwell Park.

Over five incredible days, thousands of Scouts, leaders and volunteers from across the UK and around the world are meeting to celebrate friendship, adventure, culture and the shared values of Scouting, making this a truly international event.

Throughout the Jamboree, our volunteer team of Paramedics, and Responders are providing comprehensive on-site medical cover. This included staffing a fully equipped Medical Centre, alongside an outpost medical base within the campsite, ensuring prompt medical care is always close at hand whenever it is needed.

Its a privilege to work in partnership with the fantastic team at the Muslim Scout Fellowship. Events of this scale are only possible thanks to the dedication of volunteers, and we are proud to stand alongside the organisers, leaders and countless volunteers who give up their time to make the Jamboree such a success.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for making us feel so welcome. We hope everyone has fantastic memories, new friendships and experiences that will last a lifetime.

Three events. Three counties. More than 6,000 Scouts, volunteers and participants. One incredible volunteer team.

This weekend, ScoutMed teams are once again supporting Scouting across the country.

📍 Lonsdale District Scouts District Camp at Waddecar Scout Activity Centre Lancashire – supporting around 600 campers.

📍 Central Yorkshire Scouts Challenge 26 at Bramham Park, North Yorkshire – operating a fully equipped medical centre and outposts for over 5,000 participants and volunteers.

📍 UK Contingent IST Weekend at Gilwell Park – providing medical support for more than 550 participants preparing for their international adventure.

While our responders, paramedics and nurses are the faces you'll see on the ground this weekend, there's an enormous amount of work that happens long before the first patient walks through the door.

Over the past week, equipment has been checked, medications replenished, vehicles loaded, medical centres planned, communications tested and specialist equipment deployed across hundreds of miles. We're not simply providing first aid – we're building temporary medical centres capable of assessing, treating and managing the vast majority of illnesses and injuries safely on site.

Behind every event is a wider clinical team, including Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Consultants, providing expert advice and clinical support whenever it's needed, helping ensure our front-line teams can deliver the highest standard of care.

This is all about responsible Scouting and supporting our local communities. By treating people on site wherever it is safe and appropriate to do so, we help participants get back to enjoying their event while reducing unnecessary pressure on local NHS services. None of this would be possible without partnership. We are proud to work alongside the fantastic event organisers, leaders and volunteers who make these events happen. Together, we all share the same goal: providing young people with amazing experiences in a safe environment.

From Lancashire to North Yorkshire and down to Gilwell, our volunteers are spread across the country this weekend. Like all Groups/Districts/Counties every single member of ScoutMed is a volunteer, generously giving up their own time to support others.

We're incredibly proud of what our team has achieved. Three major events, thousands of people, countless hours of planning, and one shared commitment to keeping Scouting safe.

There’s always a huge amount of work happening behind the scenes to keep our unit ready to support scouting around the country, and this weekend was no exception.

A massive thank you to our four members who gave up their entire Sunday to restock, check, update, and reseal all of our medical bags and equipment. After several busy weeks, this was our one opportunity to get everything fully prepared for what promises to be another busy summer of event cover.

The time and effort that goes into making sure every bag is fully stocked, every piece of equipment is checked, and everything is ready for when it's needed is something that often goes unseen—but it's absolutely essential.

We simply couldn't do what we do without the dedication, commitment, and teamwork of our volunteers working behind the scenes.

While separated by around 130 miles, our teams were proud to be supporting two incredible Scout events at the same time.

📍 Providing cover at Dartford Scouts and Guides' free Summer Carnival in Central Parl. It was wonderful to see so many young people, volunteers and families enjoying a brilliant day of activities, fun and community spirit.

📍 Meanwhile, over in Cirencester Park, we were back supporting Gloucestershire Scouts at their Evolution & Discovery Weekend, part of their Strategy & Evolution programme for Squirrels, Beavers, Brownies and Cubs. Another fantastic event packed with adventure, fun and unforgettable experiences for everyone.

A huge thank you to the organisers, leaders, volunteers and our own ScoutMed members who all give their time freely to make these events happen. Every one of them is an unpaid volunteer, and it's their dedication and teamwork that make weekends like this possible.

By the end of the weekend there were plenty of happy (and very tired!) young people heading home with smiles on their faces—a true sign of a weekend well spent. We're proud to partner with the fantastic organsiers and play our small part in helping keep these amazing events safe. 🚑⚜️

Another fantastic weekend completed by the ScoutMed team!

This week, our Event Responders and Paramedics were delighted to return for another year supporting Strategy & Evolution, providing comprehensive on-site medical cover throughout the event.

Working in partnership with the event organisers and the incredible team of volunteers who make this event possible, our teams delivered medical centre operations, outpost cover, and mobile response teams across an amazing 3,000-acre site, helping to keep 3,000 Scouts, Explorers, Guides and Rangers safe while they tackled 30 exciting challenge bases spread across the event area.

As expected for an event of this size and nature, our team treated 118 patients over the weekend, ensuring participants could get back to enjoying the fun-filled challenges as quickly and safely as possible.

We are proud to have played a small part in Stratergy 2026 and looking forward to Evolution & Discovery events next weekend.

It's a busy weekend for the ScoutMed team as we're out supporting fantastic Scouting events across the country!

One of our teams is working alongside Scouts Worcester, providing event medical cover for over 650 young people and volunteers attending their District Camp. Meanwhile, another team is partnering with our friends at Scout Adventures back at Gilwell Park, helping to keep this year's Fundays safe and enjoyable for every Squirrel, Beaver and Cub taking part.

At ScoutMed, we're proud to work in partnership with event organisers, Districts, Counties and activity providers to create safe environments where young people can challenge themselves, make memories and enjoy incredible adventures. By working together, we help ensure these fun-filled weekends can happen with confidence, giving leaders, volunteers, parents and participants peace of mind.

A massive thank you to all the volunteers from across all these wonderful organsiations that come together to make these fun packed weekends happen.

We hope everyone has an amazing weekend packed with adventure, friendship and fun – and we'll be there if we're needed!

A huge milestone for ScoutMed SASU — and it's all thanks to you.

We're incredibly proud to announce that, with the support of a £20,000 grant from the The National Lottery Community Fund and a generous discount from SCHILLER Medical, we have secured two brand-new Schiller DEFIGARD Touch 7 patient monitors.

These state-of-the-art devices represent a significant upgrade on our previous equipment — bringing greater portability, reliability, and clinical capability to the events we support. For our medical team, that means faster decisions, better information, and a higher standard of pre-hospital care for the patients who need it most.

The monitors have already been put to work at some fantastic Scouting occasions, including the Windsor Day of Celebration and Achievement (the National Queen/King Scout Parade) and HAM Cub Jam — and we couldn't be more proud to have them in our kit.

To the National Lottery Community Fund and Schiller Medical: thank you. Your support makes a real, tangible difference — not just to our team, but to every young person and adult we're there to look after.

Another busy weekend for our teams

One group spent the weekend supporting all the wonderful leaders and helpers at Basingstoke East Scouts, providing onsite medical cover at the Beastly - Scouts and Girlguiding

Meanwhile, over in Hertfordshire, several of our volunteers completed the final weekend of their FREC4 course, helping to further enhance their clinical skills and knowledge so they can continue supporting the unit to the highest standard. A huge thank you as well to our in-house trainers for giving up their time and expertise.

We would also like to say a massive thank you to all of our incredible volunteers who give so much of their free time to support scouting and across teh country — we truly couldn’t do it without you.
