From Ghana to Kenya, and now back to the UK, our mission to equip and empower the next generation of female leaders continues.

Tomorrow, we welcome an incredible community of young women, speakers, facilitators, judges, exhibitors and partners to the AKAYA Leadership x Wellness Summit 2026 for a day centred on leadership, careers, wellness and community.

Behind every great idea is someone willing to champion it.

Meet the judges for the AKAYA Girls in Tech Innovation Challenge. 👏🏾

This year’s judging panel brings together leaders from technology, digital innovation and entrepreneurship, alongside someone who knows exactly what it’s like to stand where our participants are today.

✨ Debbie Zangina
An AKAYA Wellness Initiative alumna and member of last year’s winning team, Debbie is a Year 12 student already making an incredible impact through youth leadership, entrepreneurship and advocacy.

✨ Adeola Adedeji
An Engagement / Group Delivery Director with over 15 years’ experience leading digital transformation programmes for organisations including Shell, Mastercard, Land Rover and EE. Adeola is passionate about empowering the next generation of women in STEM.

✨ Valentina Proietti
Head of Product Design at WongDoody, Valentina has over 18 years of experience designing digital products and leading multidisciplinary teams. She is a passionate advocate for inclusive leadership, innovation and creating more opportunities for women in technology.

Our participants have spent weeks developing innovative solutions to real-world problems. Next week, they’ll pitch their ideas to this incredible panel.

We’re excited to announce our final panellist for the AKAYA Leadership x Wellness Summit 2026…

Karen Emelu 👏🏾

Karen is the Founder of Black Girls in Tech, a global community of over 45,000 members dedicated to increasing access, visibility and opportunities for underrepresented women in technology.

An international speaker and innovation leader, she has collaborated with organisations including Google, Mastercard, HSBC, Expedia, Financial Times, Imperial College London, King’s College London and the University of Cambridge, championing technology, entrepreneurship and inclusive innovation.

At this year’s summit, Karen will not only be joining our leadership panel but will also serve as a judge for our Girls in Tech Innovation Challenge, where our programme participants will pitch the innovative solutions they’ve spent months developing.

We can’t wait for our girls to learn from one of the leading voices shaping the future of technology and entrepreneurship.

A medical doctor, speaker and wellness advocate, Dr Yaa Oheema is passionate about helping people build healthier lives through intentional, sustainable habits.

At this year’s summit, she’ll bring the wellness perspective to our leadership panel, exploring what it truly means to thrive, not just academically or professionally, but physically, mentally and emotionally too.

With a decade of experience across Deloitte and PwC, Daniel has built strategic partnerships with some of the world’s leading technology companies across AI, cloud and data.

But beyond the boardroom, he’s equally passionate about creating opportunities for others.

As the founder of Chazon UK CIC, Daniel provides free career coaching and financial education for young people while helping expand access to education for underserved children across West Africa.

At this year’s summit, Daniel will join our panel to share practical insights on leadership, career growth, purpose and using your success to create impact.

We’re looking forward to a conversation our attendees won’t forget.
