Elevate Manchester Cohort | Session 6 🏹
Is personal branding really that important? 🤔

This session helped students explore their strengths, interests, and goals and how to show up authentically without losing who they are 🪴
Led by the brilliant Allen, the day was packed with energy, confidence-building activities, and creativity 💫

We also heard inspiring apprenticeship journeys from Wiktoria Maga and Mohammed Ally from 🚀
A day full of learning, laughter, and a safe space where every voice mattered 💛

Plus… serious talent on display in the logo challenge 👏

📢 I’m incredibly proud to share that Start Young UK has been officially shortlisted as a finalist for the The National Diversity Awards 2025, in the Community Organisation Award.

👏 Selected from over 85,000 nominations and votes, we are in the final six for this category, this recognition is an honour — not just for the charity, but for every person who has stood beside us: our buddies, mentors, volunteers, partners, and community supporters.

🫶 As Chair Trustee of Start Young UK, I’ve always believed that leadership is about doing the work, not just talking about it. It’s about walking alongside your team, being present, and never asking anyone to do what you wouldn’t do yourself.

💓 This nomination reflects that ethos — the hours, energy, and love that so many have poured into building something that lasts.

🌟 Supporting the Next Generation! 🌟

This week, we had the privilege of attending the Apprenticeship Fair, where we met so many ambitious young people eager to take the next step in their careers! 💼✨

The interest in our Elevate Programme was incredible - our bright pink flyers were flying off the table so fast that we actually ran out! 💖😂

From insightful conversations to sharing opportunities, it was amazing to see the enthusiasm in the room. A huge thank you to Ruhena and the team at for organising such a fantastic and impactful event! 👏

🚀 Elevate Session 5 – Manchester 🚀

💡 This session was all about personal branding and building a strong professional profile while staying true to yourself.

✨ Session Highlights:
🌟 Alex Hawley kicked off with a motivational talk on embracing authenticity and overcoming challenges.
🌟 Chris Beighton brought humour and energy to an engaging branding session, helping students discover their unique strengths and how to present them.
📰 Clare Francis shared her inspiring career journey, encouraging students to embrace unexpected opportunities.
⚠️ Dean Cody delivered an eye-opening talk on County Lines, knife crime, and making informed choices.

🤔 Group Activities: Students rebranded organisations and pitched bold, creative ideas—they’re truly future leaders in the making!
