Solving Kids' Cancer

Solving Kids' Cancer Solving Kids' Cancer UK fights for a future where no child dies of the childhood cancer neuroblastoma

Solving Kids' Cancer helps families affected by the most high-risk childhood cancers. Every week in the UK thirty children are diagnosed with some type of cancer. While we will be spreading our wings in the future, our focus will remain fixed on neuroblastoma – a very aggressive childhood cancer and the most likely to affect children in their first year of life. It is the most common cancer found

in children under the age of 5, and most commonly diagnosed when it has progressed to a later stage. Even after successful treatment, 60% of children with high risk neuroblastoma will relapse, at which point there are very limited treatment options available for parents.

This year at the SIOP Europe, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology - SIOPE & Childhood Cancer International Europe conference, as UK patient partners, Solving Kids’ Cancer UK proudly sponsored the annual educational event for patients and patient organisations.

This event creates space for shared learning, connection and collaboration across borders - strengthening the collective patient voice in childhood cancer.

At this year’s event, we welcomed Dr Eleni Syrimi, who shared her experience of working in partnership with patient advocacy groups as a healthcare professional.

Building strong, respectful partnerships between patients, professionals and systems is essential to driving lasting change – and we were pleased to support this collaboration.
