At the start of the year, Hands - Helping neighbours in need hired us to create a bespoke volunteer training programme. In February, Victoria travelled to Twickenham to deliver the package and facilitate training, giving staff a chance to see it in action. Since then, the wonderful team at Hands have independently trained 25 new volunteers, which is a fantastic development! Well done, Hands!

2026 has been a huge year for Befriending at Hands! 🧡
Since the start of the year, we’ve invested heavily in growing our Befriending service, and the results speak for themselves. So far, we’ve trained 25 new volunteers to build safe, meaningful, and genuinely life-changing connections across our community. (A huge thank you to Befriending Networks for your invaluable support in training!)
For anyone who is housebound, lonely, or socially isolated, a befriender is so much more than just a visitor—they offer companionship, a listening ear, and a sense of connection when it’s needed most.
