Feel Good Friday!......We've had a very positive email update and lovely feedback from a family we supported for 6 months while their son was in RHCYP.

Mum to baby F emailed to say: Look at this boy who we were told “won’t roll and certainly won’t crawl”….."Desperate to get his tummy off the ground! ....now Look at him! Overcoming all the odds!"

She added:
"Joanne’s (At Kindred) support was personal, understanding and informative. She was a pillar of kindness throughout our 6 month admission and really listened to us. The offer from Kindred was bespoke to our needs as they evolved throughout our stay. The support of Kindred made our time in hospital bearable and having a calm, knowledgeable advocate in our corner really made a difference. " 🥰

This week is Carers Week and at Kindred we want to celebrate how amazing carers are!

To care for children with complex needs you have to be strong, kind, resilient and selfless. Simply put, carers are awesome.

However, having caring responsibilities can be overwhelming, frightening, exhausting and stressful.

But, Kindred Advocacy can support you and make sure you are heard. You can get in touch with us by email: [email protected]

What a feel good Monday morning email to receive today. We were pleased to secure funding for this family from Sloane & Co LLP for a new disability buggy to enable them to enjoy family days out together again .

‘ First trip out with the new buggy and honestly what a difference! Ryan absolutely love his new buggy and was giggling when we were building it. Thank you so much again for the help you gave our family and to the charity for funding it. We are so grateful. ‘

If you are based in Edinburgh or Fife and want to discuss some possible funding to help your disabled child please do get in touch .
