💜 Could you spare just one hour a week to help make a difference?

We've been so warmed by the messages we've received in the last year from so many of you wanting to make difference, and we're excited to now be at a stage where we can invite you in to grow our team!🙌

As Fertility Action continues to grow, we need some compassionate humans who are lead by purpose and genuinely want to make a change for those affected by infertility or navigating challenging family-building pathways.

We're looking for volunteers to support our work in a variety of ways 🤓🧡🩷

You might be interested in:
✨ Facilitating peer support groups
✨ Becoming a peer mentor/buddy for someone earlier in their fertility journey
✨ Sharing your story as a lived experience ambassador
✨ Supporting our advocacy and campaigning work to improve fertility care and awareness

✨ Fundraising and donor engagement
✨ Event planning and support
✨ Administrative and organisational tasks
✨ Community outreach and partnership building
✨ PR, communications and media relations
✨ Professional expertise, including HR, legal, finance or IT support
✨Climbing 3 Mountains in 24 hours next week! (because we have a space that's become available 💪😬 🗻🗻🗻- DM us for details)

Whether you have specialist skills to share, lived experience that could help others, or simply some time and enthusiasm, we'd love to hear from you.

Every contribution helps us provide vital support, information, education and advocacy for people affected by fertility challenges.

🩷🧡Together, we can ensure that no one has to navigate fertility issues alone.

If you're interested in becoming a volunteer facilitator, we'll provide full training, ongoing support and supervision.

We simply ask that, where applicable, you are at least three years beyond your own treatment or family-building journey.

📊 The latest HFEA figures show that fertility treatment is helping more people than ever to build their families than ever.

However, huge gaps and access disparities mean we're still missing so many people from the conversation and from the care they deserve.

Key findings from the report:

👶 Nearly 21,000 babies were born through IVF in 2023
🏫 That's around 1 in every 32 UK births
‼️Disparities remain, with Black and Asian patients having lower birth rates compared to White patients and patients from a Mixed ethnic background.
📈 Success rates continue to improve across all age groups
👩‍👩‍👧 More single patients and same-sex female couples are accessing treatment than ever before
💙 The UK continues to lead the way in reducing multiple births, making treatment safer for patients and babies.

These numbers tell an important story. Fertility treatment is not a niche service – it is an essential part of modern healthcare and family building for 1 in 6.

But while demand continues to grow, access remains unequal.

Too many people face a postcode lottery for NHS-funded fertility treatment, while others are excluded because eligibility criteria fail to reflect the reality of modern families, or understanding of the diverse routes to parenthood.

As the organisation leading the Campaign, at Fertility Action we believe these figures should be a catalyst for change. We need a fertility system that is fair, inclusive and accessible – regardless of where you live, who you love, or how you plan to build your family.

The HFEA data shows fertility treatment is changing lives every day. Now it's time for policy and funding to catch up with the reality of who needs it.

Because everyone deserves the opportunity to create the family they dream of. 💙

Coming up next week is our next online support group.

A friendly, relaxed space where men can be amongst others who get it.

Our support group offers a lifeline of support when sometimes things all seem a bit isolating and lonely.

It doesn't matter where you are in your journey whether it's something on your side or your partners side having a safe space to be with others is incredibly valuable.

The other great thing is it's a place to learn. Learn from others who've been through it, learn how they coped, where they got support and further information.

It's not all navel gazing and "how do you feel about it" type of conversations. It's just blokes hanging out and supporting each other.

This morning, Fertility Action Founder and CEO Katie Rollings met with Jess Brown-Fuller to discuss the next phase of the Campaign and the urgent need to address persistent inequalities in access to fertility treatment across the UK.

We are delighted that Jess has agreed to submit an Early Day Motion calling for the development of a National Fertility Strategy - an important step towards securing a more equitable, consistent and patient-centred approach to fertility care.

As Parliament, patients, clinicians and campaign organisations increasingly focus on fertility policy, there is a growing recognition that access to treatment remains subject to an unacceptable postcode lottery. Today's discussion centred on how MPs, patient advocates and sector partners can work together to deliver meaningful change and ensure fertility is recognised as a healthcare priority.

Jess has been a steadfast champion of this agenda, from her efforts to secure a Westminster Hall debate on fertility to raising the issue of fertility access at Prime Minister's Questions. Her continued commitment to improving outcomes for patients is greatly appreciated.

Progress is only possible through collaboration, and we look forward to continuing to work with parliamentarians, charities, organisations and the wider fertility community to build momentum for lasting reform.

The recent House of Lords debate on 4 June highlighted growing recognition that the UK's fertility laws and regulatory framework need updating to reflect advances in reproductive medicine, changing family structures, and the realities facing patients today.

Peers raised our long-held concerns about unequal access to NHS-funded fertility treatment, and discussed the rise of private fertility care, and the need for stronger protections for patients.

While the Government acknowledged that reform is needed, there is no immediate commitment to legislative change. Nevertheless, the debate represents an important step in building momentum for progress. We're getting somewhere, albeit slowly 💪

Fertility Action will continue to work alongside MPs, Peers, fellow charities, patient advocates, clinicians and leading sector organisations to champion the voices of those affected and advocate for equitable access to fertility treatment and family-building support for everyone who needs it.

Until that goal is reached, our work continues.

🩷 An Atomic Addition to the Fertility Action Family 🧡

📢 We are delighted to announce that singer, Celebrity Masterchef, and No-fly traveller -Cho has become the very first Ambassador for Fertility Action! 💙

Many will know Liz as a member of the hugely successful pop group Atomic Kitten, as well as for her work across television and radio. More recently, Liz has inspired many through her own fertility journey, helping to raise awareness of the realities and challenges that so many individuals and families face when trying to build a family.

Having experienced fertility challenges herself, including eight rounds of IVF before recently welcoming her baby, Liz brings both personal insight and a deep commitment to supporting others on their fertility journeys. Her story has given hope to many and highlighted the importance of ensuring people have access to the support, information and care they need.

As Fertility Action's first Ambassador, Liz will support our work across advocacy, education and support, helping us amplify the voices of those affected by fertility challenges, raise awareness of key issues, and champion positive change.

Liz's authenticity, compassion and passion for improving fertility awareness make her an incredible addition to our team. Together, we will work to break down stigma, improve understanding, and ensure that fertility remains firmly on the agenda for policymakers, healthcare professionals and the wider public.

We are incredibly proud to welcome Liz to the Fertility Action family and are excited to work alongside her to make a lasting difference for the fertility community.

Please join us in giving Liz a very warm welcome! ✨
