d in 2013 by Euan MacDonald MBE, a powerchair user, and his sister Kiki after Euan was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease. They discovered how the lack of disabled access information made everyday experiences stressful and Euan’s Guide was born after discovering that other disabled people experienced the same challenges.

We’re delighted to see Nationwide UK has launched Speak Easy, a new communication tool designed to make visiting a bank branch a more accessible and comfortable experience for people who experience communication difficulties.

Developed with input from people with lived experience, as well as organisations including Mencap, BILD, Stroke Association and a BSL user group, Speak Easy uses simple communication cards to help customers express what they need when accessing financial services.

We’ve got exciting news to share – and what better day to announce it than on Euan’s birthday! 🎉

Euan’s Guide has been awarded a Gordon Aikman Scholarship from MND Scotland and the Scottish Government to create a dedicated digital access guide for people living with Motor Neuron Disease (MND) in Scotland.

Co-designed with people living with MND, their families and carers, the guide will focus on real-life journeys, from accessible places to eat and stay near clinics, to Changing Places toilets and accessible transport links.

Euan’s Guide was founded by Euan MacDonald MBE following his own MND diagnosis, after experiencing first-hand the lack of reliable access information. This partnership brings that story full circle and we’re so proud of how far we’ve come.

No one with MND should miss out on a moment that matters because they couldn’t find the right access information. Together, we’re making time count. ❤️

We’re proud to share the results of our latest Impact Report, which demonstrates how our trusted access information is helping disabled people make plans, have more choices, and go out with greater confidence.

Earlier this year, with support from the Motability Foundation, we commissioned an independent evaluation of Euan’s Guide’s impact, carried out by Clear Impact Consulting.

The results remind us why Euan set out to improve disabled access information over a decade ago, and confirm what our community has been telling us for years.

📍90% say Euan’s Guide gives them more confidence to visit new places or try new things
🏛 55% have visited somewhere new after finding access information on Euan’s Guide
💻 86% feel more connected

Happy International Cat Day! We wanted to introduce you to some of the Euan's Guide team cats!
