Euan’s Guide is the award-winning disabled access charity (charity number SC045492) working to make the world accessible to all disabled people. We’re best known for EuansGuide.com, the go-to website for disabled access information written by and for disabled people. We also make tens of thousands of accessible toilets safer, run the UK’s largest Access Survey and lots more! The charity was founde

d in 2013 by Euan MacDonald MBE, a powerchair user, and his sister Kiki after Euan was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease. They discovered how the lack of disabled access information made everyday experiences stressful and Euan’s Guide was born after discovering that other disabled people experienced the same challenges.

To celebrate the launch of our Welsh-language Red Cord Cards, we are putting wheels on the ground in Cardiff. On 24 June, our Community Manager will be exploring the Welsh capital, visiting local venues, delivering Red Cord Cards and sharing his adventures across our social media channels.

In the meantime, we would love to hear your recommendations for the best accessible places in Cardiff. Let us know in the comments and we will see if we can check them out while we are in town.

Find out what she thought of the exhibition and museum access

Our Volunteer Coordinator, Claire, went along to see the Design and Disability exhibition at V&A Dundee.

Come with us to visit the Design and Disability exhibition 😃

Design and Disability has arrived in Dundee from London, and additional artists from Scotland have been added to the collection.

Spanning from the 1940s to present day, the exhibition features objects across three themes - Visibility, Creativity and Living - within design, art, architecture, fashion and photography.

The exhibition is both a celebration of disabled-led design and a call for action to embed the experiences and expertise of disabled people in design processes, and through examples of disability-first practices showcasing the work of disabled people and collaborators, the exhibition demonstrates how design can be made more accessible 🙌

✨️ Our highlight? Look out for the MCP/CMC/IP splint ring by EvaBelle Jewelry, which can be found in the Visibility area – we loved it.

How did we find the access at V&A Dundee?

It was great – access in the museum is flat, a lift takes you upstairs to the galleries, and there are accessible loos as well as a Changing Places toilet.

The exhibition gallery is spacious and well considered, and there’s plenty of seating too.

Large print booklets are available throughout each theme of the exhibition with information on each object. BSL and audio tours are also available on the V&A website and within the exhibition on site.

The smaller detail that made a big difference?

The interactive objects were at a great height for wheelchair users to reach ♿️

Design and Disability is open until 4 October 2026, and entry is free for everyone.

Access can be arranged by calling +44 (0)1382 411611 or emailing [email protected]

Our values are built on sharing, connection, and breaking down barriers, and carers are a vital part of our community - you have a unique, expert understanding of what makes a venue truly accessible.

Every time you review a venue, you're not just rating a place; you're helping to build a more inclusive, carer-friendly world by prioritising disabled access information.

We want you to know that your hard work, compassion, and resilience do not go unnoticed – thank you 💙

The fight for disabled access never stops - but we have YOU 😍 our amazing supporters

This we’re sharing the brilliant story of Baillie Gifford's Review Crew and how our volunteers make a mighty impact in making change 💪

The Review Crew spent a team volunteering day out and about in Edinburgh, visiting accessible loos, attaching our Red Cord Cards, and leaving disabled access reviews on Euan's Guide.

They faced some shocking barriers, proving that the fight for disabled access truly never stops - but we know that every disabled access review and Red Cord Card help to make positive change ✨
