We are a registered charity in Scotland (Number SC038932). Venture Trust helps people going through difficult circumstances to make positive changes in their lives. We run intensive personal development programmes using wilderness settings and activities, designed to support participants to build their confidence, learn new skills, spend time with others from similar backgrounds, and think about t

he future. Venture Trust helps people recognise what they need to change; then gives them the confidence, motivation and life tools they need to make those changes. Our programmes give participants time and space in a wilderness setting, far away from the pressures of home, in which they are set physical, emotional and social challenges. These challenges, combined with long term support from our outreach workers, help participants to develop the skills they need to find a job, go back into education, increase their stability and develop more positive relationships with those around them.

You're hired!

At the end of last week, during a Venture Trust Staff Development Day, teams took on their own version of The Apprentice.

Staff were challenged to develop new commercial opportunities for Venture Trust, creating business plans and marketing campaigns before pitching their ideas to none other than 'Lord Sugar' himself... our Managing Director, Gavin Sinclair.

While there could only be one winning team, who produced an Oscar-worthy promotional film, the real winner is Venture Trust as we continue exploring new ways to strengthen our long term sustainability and support more people across Scotland to build confidence, resilience and hope for the future.

📣 We’re recruiting an Outreach & Support Worker in Perth & Kinross

We're looking for a dynamic and driven person, dedicated to levelling the playing field and equipping people with the tools they need to thrive.

Working across your area and in the Scottish wilderness, you’ll provide bespoke and holistic 1:1 support for participants, spending time to get to know them, their strengths and where they want to go. You’ll help to shape their journeys, navigating 1:1, community and wilderness journey support, always harnessing the benefits of the outdoors and nature spaces to provide therapeutic benefit.

🏊‍♀️ Our second journey of 2026 went swimmingly — figuratively and literally.

The group took on Ben Vrackie, and on reaching the summit, they were greeted with snow and incredible views. Cold water dips vitalised and energised several of the participants.

As always personal challenges were faced and many overcame, the midge were beginning to annoy and the rain on the final morning reminded us of the harder side of the outdoors.
Finishing in Glassie farm bunkhouse, action plans were designed, emotions shared and we ended the final day with uproarious laughter.

We leave this journey wishing all eight participants continued hope, progress and a growing sense of self-worth. 💚

This , we’re recognising the importance of accessible, compassionate and flexible mental health support that meets people where they are.

That’s why we’re preparing to launch our new Outdoor Therapy for Veterans service — offering one-to-one counselling in parks, woodlands and green spaces for veterans experiencing poor mental health, trauma, isolation or challenges adjusting to civilian life.

Being outdoors can reduce pressure, create a sense of calm and make it easier to open up. Our service will combine therapy with the benefits of time spent in nature, creating accessible and meaningful support for veterans across Glasgow and surrounding areas.

🌄 What a week on and around Loch Lomond.

Scotland absolutely delivered — seven days of sunshine — and the group brought everything else. From constant jokes to real compassion and insight, it was a powerful time spent together in the outdoors.

Across the week, people supported one another through challenge, learned to tune into their own needs and discovered new ways of coping — all in some of Scotland’s most incredible landscapes.
