From Old To New💥

Join us in celebrating🎊 this amazing achievement from our talented superstar from our creative craft workshop 🤩 and get ready to be inspired 💃

This incredibly talented individual took an old, worn-out slipper 👣 and transformed it into a brand new, functional work of art! 🎨

But what makes this story even more special is the love and sentimental value behind it. Here's what our superstar has to say👇

"Good day everyone 🌺🌸🌼🌻 I would like to share my craft that I made out of old slipper! (my slippers) There are cases that u don’t like to let go your favourite stuff . I have a pair of orthopedic slipper that my daughter bought me way back in 2009, I love it ,so comfy to use anywhere I go & as much as possible I really wanted to wear it any occasion ❤️in 2015 my slipper give up😅 it was broken and I repaired it! 2024 he looks too overused and old, so what I did during my break (free time on holiday) I made a it new, new looks that I love it more than I used to. A precious gift my a daughter that I really treasured for the rest of my Life!😍❤️😂🤞

At ELREC Open Arms Project we're talking creativity, skill, and sustainability all in one! 🌿 This is what happens when imagination meets determination 💡. Our workshop participant proved that with a little bit of creativity, we can breathe new life into old, discarded items and reduce waste ♻️.

🎉 Today was a day filled with creativity, connection, and community! 🌈

We wrapped up our crochet and macrame class, and we're still beaming with joy! ❤️ This workshop was a beautiful testament to the power of peer support and the talent that exists within our community.

A huge thank you to the amazing ladies who attended, sharing their laughter, stories, and skills. Your energy was infectious! 💫

We're also grateful to our talented trainer, Anwar Amigurumi who guided us through the stitches and knots with patience and expertise. Your teaching style is truly a gift! 🙏

This project wouldn't have been possible without the support of our sponsor, The National Lottery Community Fund and our office head Edinburgh and Lothians Regional Equality Council (ELREC). Thank you for believing in our mission and empowering us to create spaces like this. 🙌
