This year marks the 35th anniversary of Art in Healthcare, and to celebrate this milestone three of the team are walking 35K on Friday 28 August, from Edinburgh to our next exhibition at Park Gallery, Falkirk!

Anything you can sponsor us will be gratefully received by Art in healthcare and help us to continue our work, using the benefits of art to help improve wellbeing across Scotland.

We have been members of Art UK for many years and benefit from the work that they do to make the art in UK public collections accessible to everyone – for enjoyment, learning and research. They bring together the nation's art on one platform - digitising artworks and telling the stories behind the art. They also host a shop that features works from our collection.

In a recent Art Insider Blog, Art UK invited artist Ann Oram to share where she finds her inspiration and asked her about her long-standing connection with Art in Healthcare. Thanks to Ann for her on-going support and the team at Art UK.

You are Invited to the launch of Breathing Space at the Park Gallery, Falkirk. Breathing Space, an exhibition of RSA-associated artists is presented by the Park Gallery in partnership with Art in Healthcare and will take place at Callendar House from 29 August – 18 October 2026.

You are invited to come and celebrate the launch with us on Friday 28th August, from 6pm to 8pm; spaces are limited so please RSVP to Gillian Smith, Exhibition Officer, at [email protected], by Wednesday 26th August.

Room For Art enjoyed a wonderful outing to Linlithgow over the summer break, where we visited ‘Homecoming’, an exhibition by Artist Leo Du Feu! Leo leads the Room For Art group at the Portrait Gallery and has been involved with the project since its beginnings, 10 years ago! It was such a privilege and a joy to listen to Leo share his creative process and personal experiences with us. The group were then inspired to do some outdoor sketching of our own, led by Leo, overlooking the beautiful Linlithgow Loch!

Huge thanks and recognition must be given to and namely Ros in the Community Liaison Team, who provided us with complimentary rail travel from Edinburgh to Linlithgow and back. This enabled a large group of us to access such a fantastic opportunity out with the city. For many, travelling by train holds happy memories and it was a real positive social experience to get to travel on the train together!

‘Homecoming’ is still on at The Burgh Halls until Sunday 13 September 2026!

We’ve had an incredible four weeks with our Career Ready intern Kayla.

We’ve been so proud to watch her progress over the summer – as she’s grown in confidence and built essential workplace skills.

Today, Kayla delivered her end of internship presentation – a fantastic showcase of everything she has achieved. Well done Kayla! We can’t wait to see what you do next.

We’re very pleased to announce that we've received £5,184 from the Museums Galleries Scotland Small Grants Fund!

This funding will help us upgrade our art collection database - boosting our organisational resilience and making our collection more accessible and engaging for everyone. 🎨💻

🎉We’re pleased to announce that £129,584 has been awarded to 12 museum organisations across the country through the latest round of our Small Grants Fund.

From launching a new podcast to upgrading display cases, the awarded projects aim to enhance audience engagement, education, and accessibility.
