And he's one of our own! Joe Higgins is our brilliant Policy and Communications Officer, who has played a leading role drawing attention to the need for children's rights to be respected in Religious Observance in Scottish schools.

Joe will be talking RO and children's rights alongside journalist and legal scholar Andrew Tickell.

What an extraordinary discussion featuring Traitors star Matty Hyndman on BBC's Scotcast. He talks openly about his experiences as a Christian missionary and his excommunication from his church following his coming out as gay.

Matty, is now agnostic and campaigns to ban conversion practices. We are proud to be part of this campaign too. There are strong links between humanism and LGBT+ equality in Scotland--you can find out more about our work here:

Head to our Festival of Humanism on 14 November to hear an inspiring talk on using art to nurture ecological sensitivity from painter Siobhan McLaughlin.

Siobhan McLaughlin is an artist and curator based in Glasgow. Her practice explores themes of place, care and memory and considers how past and current activities leave impressions on our ecologies.

Siobhan will also lead an interactive session on "making paint from the earth"

28 September is . To mark the occasion we got the whole team in green, in accordance with a worldwide tradition that began in Argentina in the noughties as a symbol of the National Campaign for the Right to Legal, Free and Safe Abortion.

Today, in Scotland, women can still be prosecuted for having abortions. We're part of the campaign to fully decriminalise abortion in our country, along with our brilliant partners in the coalition.
