We’re hiring!

ACIC is looking for an Internships Program Manager to help deliver the International Youth Internship Program (IYIP), supporting young people as they build skills, gain international experience, and engage in meaningful global learning opportunities.

This is a full-time, one-year contract based in Atlantic Canada.

If you’re passionate about youth leadership, international cooperation, and creating accessible pathways for young people, we’d love to hear from you.

Since 2019, ACIC has had the privilege of hosting the Inter-Council Network (), the coalition of eight Provincial and Regional Councils for International Cooperation working together to strengthen global cooperation and public engagement across Canada.

Over the past seven years, we’ve had a front row seat to the ICN’s incredible work, from national programs and policy initiatives to international youth delegations, research, advocacy, and countless opportunities to connect and collaborate with partners from coast to coast to coast.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to have hosted the ICN here in Atlantic Canada and for the relationships, learning, and shared experiences that came with it. While we’re excited to see this next chapter begin with the ICN’s move to Ontario with in spring 2026, we’ll certainly miss having the ICN team close by.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey with the ICN!

Join us in Halifax for a special in-person CES Nova Scotia Conference Watch Party as we tune into one of the conference’s featured plenary sessions and connect with colleagues across the sector.

We’ll be watching:
“Evaluating in the Polycrisis – the interconnectedness of all things” featuring Eriel Tchekwie Deranger, Dënesųłiné climate and Indigenous rights advocate, and Executive Director of Indigenous Climate Action.

We’re also excited to welcome Professor Fayth Ruffin from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) for a special in-person talk on Afrocentric and Indigenous learning, offering global perspectives on decolonization, interconnectedness, and community-rooted knowledge systems.

The ACIC Global Citizenship Youth Conference brings together youth from across Atlantic Canada for a 3-day immersive experience exploring global issues like human rights, climate change, equity, and more. Through interactive activities, discussion, and reflection, participants build skills, connect across communities, and leave with ideas for action in their own lives.

The conference is free to attend, with travel, food, and accommodations fully covered to make sure all youth can participate.

Interested in gaining international experience while working in solidarity with community partners?

Through ACIC’s International Youth Internship Program (IYIP), we’re offering two placements in Ghana with Connecting to Africa. Connecting to Africa works to build partnerships between Nova Scotian groups and organizations of African descent and communities across Africa, creating opportunities for Black youth in Canada to connect with their roots while supporting community-led initiatives on the continent.

These placements offer the opportunity to learn alongside local partners, contribute to community-driven work, and deepen understanding of global justice and cross-cultural collaboration. Applications are prioritized for African Nova Scotian youth and youth from the Black/African diaspora.
