Donate a Car Canada accepts vehicle donations for Children's Aid Foundation of Nova Scotia (CAFNS). Free towing is provided in most areas across Canada, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation.

When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to CAFNS it will either be recycled or re-sold (depending on its condition, age and location). Donate a Car Canada will look after all the details to make it easy for CAFNS to benefit. You will receive a tax receipt after your donation has been processed!

Executive Director Kate Pepler is approaching her due date and has spent August training interim Executive Director Lisa Roberts. Kate’s last day is September 10.

Lisa is a former MLA and journalist who has helmed several Halifax-based non-profits. She’ll be focused on the strategic goal of the CAFNS: to increase our donor base so that we can always respond to eligible requests for support. Please consider joining Lisa as a monthly donor!

- Help us fill bags! We are looking for volunteers August 24 and 25 from 9-4 to fill bags to distribute
- Driving to Yarmouth area or Cape Breton between August 25-September 1? Help us get bags to kids in those areas by driving some bags for us!

A huge batch of school supplies have arrived for our Back-to-School drive!

We’ll be packing backpacks the last week of August so you still have time to donate supplies or sponsor a bag!

FAQ: What makes your drive different?
We don’t require proof of income from families for them to receive a bag. Community support workers can reach out to us to get bags for their clients!

FAQ: What will be in each bag?
Thank you to our generous sponsor, The Walker Wood Foundation, each bag will be filled with supplies based on the supply list from schools (reach out for the full list for each grade).

FAQ: How many bags will you give out? And just to kids in HRM?
We are aiming to distribute 300 bags, to kids all across Nova Scotia!

Our goal is to distribute 300 bags to kids across the province and we want your help. We already have request for 183 bags from youth in Yarmouth to Cape Breton and everywhere in between.
