National Volunteer Week 2026
Theme - Your Year to Volunteer

We recognise the contribution of all our volunteers and their dedication to creating connection, purpose, and stronger communities. Here we share acknowledgment certificates from the Government of Western Australia Department of Communities to some of our amazing long term volunteers.

Let’s take a moment to thank those who already give their time and to invite others to discover how volunteering with First Hike Project in Perth can create connection, purpose, and lasting positive change.

If you are interested in volunteering with us, and bringing moments of joy to young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds, please send a message.

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day and take the opportunity to admire some of the amazing young women we take on hiking adventures with us, and thank all the female guides that assist to make these events happen. This is one of our absolute fave pics from a few years ago, when this lovely group of friends stopped on trail to look back to see how far and how high they had hiked, and just enjoy the peace of being in the hills of Perth together. They were lost in the moment for a short while before turning to give us the most wonderful smiles and we continued on our way. No words needed.
