Paddle Out for Kim this Saturday April 18.

This Saturday, our club will come together to honour Kim Bingham who recently passed. His presence, spirit, and contribution to our community will be deeply missed, and we invite everyone to join us in celebrating his memory.

10am — Special training session (replacing the usual 6:30am)
11am — Gather on the beach prior to paddle-out
12pm — Lunch and drinks in the clubroom to share stories and remember together

Your presence will mean a lot as we farewell a friend of the club.

IOP is saddened to update the paddling community that one of our favourite members, Kim Bingham (second from the right in the picture below), has passed away.

Kim was an active member of the Western Australian paddling community with a competitive spirit matched with his enjoyment of close battles on the water with some of his close competitors. He always finished a race or a downwind with a big smile. Kim was a great guy with a big heart always ready to help anyone in need

This morning, the paddling community Derek loved so much came together on the water to honour and celebrate his life with a beautiful paddle out 🩵🌺

Surrounded by friends, family, stories, and the quiet strength of the ocean, it was a special way to remember him, exactly where he felt most at home.

One of IOP's originals and a huge supporter of paddling here in WA, Damien “Damo” Kelly, is about to take on the massive challenge of crossing the Nullarbor from Perth to Geelong on his bike, in support of the Callum and Jake Robinson Foundation.

He’ll be doing the entire four‑thousand‑kilometre journey under pedal power, solo and unassisted.

We are in shock to hear about the passing of Derek Cross while out paddling yesterday afternoon. A great person and highly valued member of the WA paddling community, he will be missed by many.
Our thoughts are with Derek's family at this time.
Rest in peace.
